Afib and scared to leave the house.

Nearly two weeks ago I had an episode of Afib.
I was walking along the street the boom flutter in my chest then my heart starting going crazy.
I thought it was another anxiety attack I've had them since I was 20 I'm 31 now but it lasted longer so an ambulance got called.
The paramedics done a trace on my heart which confirmed Afib so was taken in to hospital and put on an Iv for 7 hours and it corrected it's self.I also had full blood work done and chest xray which were fine so I was discharged and now awaiting ekcho on heart.
I've had a treadmill test,halter monitors,event monitors over the last 10 years and nothing was found.
I do suffer from Crohn's disease I'm currently on prednisolone and have been put on 2.5mg of beta blockers but I'm really anxious about afib and what happened.

An injection of steroid for bursitis caused a bout of afib for which I was hospitalized. Investigate the prednisone.

Careful with the prednisone.  That can give your some symptoms if you don't manage your dosage correctly.

I could have written your post.  It hits you like a hammer and it takes a while to figure out that you are probably not going to die from this, even though it feels like it.  Continue your check ups so you know you are safe and then work on qwelling the anxiety.  Self talk, slow breathing, counseling, medications like Xanax have all helped me.  This can be managed -- don't give up, your life IS NOT over.  Keeping you in my thoughts, hang in there.
