Bruising after EP Study for Arrhythmia

Three and a half weeks ago I had an EP study for cardiac ablation.  The process took 3 hours.  No ablation was done.  Now I have a very large area on the upper thigh that has turned brownish gray from a very dark bruise.  In the past week the color has not diminished.  I had the same problem on a smaller scale last June when an attempted IV turned a spot the size of a quarter that same color on my arm. The color has not changed in 9 months. My question is will laser therapy remove the very large dark area on my upper thigh?  I fear that it will not disappear on its own.

"...During the ablation, Heparin is often administered to prevent clotting."

Sorry, I meant to say, "During the EP study, Heparin is often administered to prevent clotting."

It will eventually go away on its own, being absorbed by your body.  But it will take several months, and it probably follow gravity and drain down your leg.  During the ablation, Heparin is often administered to prevent clotting.  This increases the possibility of forming a hematoma at the catheter insertion site.  I had an orange sized lump on my leg that eventually drained as far down as my knee.  I may also be tender in the area of the bruising.  This is normal.
