Chest Pain

I am an athlete and play soccer for my local college. I am a goalie and we were doing an exercise where i must have landed wrong doing a forward dive. Well instead of landing on my fore arms I landed on my elbows which drove the ball that was wrapped up to my chest into my chest and through out the rest of the day and through out the night, It feels as if some one has done CPR on my chest and it KILLS!!! I'm not sure if i should go to the doctor cause if I do I may have to sit but if I know that this soreness will just go away then I'll wait. But sooner the better if this happens to be serious. It just hurts to breathe and even move certain ways. Please help!!

I would talk to the athletic trainer to see what they recommend.  To me it sounds more like a skeletal (ribs, sternum) problem than a heart problem....but I've never studied medicine, so I really don't know.

Good luck to you!!!  I also completely understand not wanting to sit out, but you've got to listen to your body as well.

I agree with Mommy. This doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the heart, but everything to do with the skeleton. I wouldn't wait for it to go away, though. You should definitely talk to someone who could help. An athletic therapist would be the best. Sorry for your pain, but don't worry, it will go away!
