Could my symptoms be heart related?

Hi there,

I have not been feeling well for around 2 months now. It started with shortness of breath and tightness in my chest (which I put down to a bad hay fever season). I began feeling more and more fatigued over the next few weeks and ended up being off sick from work for 2 weeks as I felt so terrible and weak. I saw my GP who sent me for a chest x-ray and a blood screen - all results came back normal. I was also given an asthma inhaler and peak flow tests to do for two weeks.
The following week I went back and saw another doctor and was sent for more blood tests (Glandula fever, thyroid, glucose, iron, vitamin D) all of which came back normal as well.

I'm still not feeling at all well and I just want some answers, I am being sent for an ECG next week and a Spirometry test in 2 weeks time but I'd like to start getting some information about possible causes as I feel like I am not going to get an answer or the doctors will just say stress/anxiety.

My full symptoms are below, please could someone offer their thoughts?

- Tightness in chest and shortness of breath, this is most of the time but is made worse by walking up the stairs, lifting things, raising my arms, eating (if lots of chewing involved), talking. It feels like my heart rate increases and breathing becomes more laboured.
- My muscles get very achey and tired easily and feel weak. My arms quite often feel like they are shaking inside (hard to explain!)
- I get tired very easily and generally fatigued
- Dizziness when I stand up
- One occasion when going off to sleep I had a fluttering in my chest which felt like a muscle spasm.
- Sometimes I get a sharp pain in my chest when breathing in (not constant - seems to be after I've been moving around a lot)

Sounds like you need to have some tests done to rule out heart problems.  I see a treadmill in your future!
