Fast Heart Rate

Hey Everyone I'm 39 years old  male and in good shape use to play sport before my accident ,about 2 years ago I had head injury ( concussion) I suffer from a few different thing because of that but one of my symptoms is a fast heart rate, My HR and BP was normal before the accident my BP still runs normal but not my heart rate, at rest its, sitting lying down it will usually drop to about 100, sometime time it goes a little lower 85 to 100 some it doesn't come down to 100 it stays 100-115, when standing or light walking just around the house it will 110 to 130  a flight of stairs normal walking brings me up to 150 + . I had a stress test done 4 minutes on the tread mill and they stopped me because I was over my max heart rate. just walking carrying 15-20lbs for a few minutes I seen it go as high as 200..  My question is I haven't been getting any answers for the doctors or treatment basically I was told not to do to much. Should i be concerned about this to the point I'm forcing the issue with the docs to get some kind of treatment if any. I find myself tired most of the time not sure if that because of my heart, but the last few week I get a burning pain in the left side of my left chest it seems like its under my left chest mussel and runs out to the side of my ribs down under my arm pit . I'm just looking for a little info. suggestions or help of any kind. thanks

Hey everyone thanks for the replies,After seeing a few more doctors I might be getting some direction, after spending a couple days with a cardiologist he has rule out there being anything at all wrong the heart, it perfect.
what he brought to light is P.O.T.S / Dysautonomia Dysfuction  cause by my concussion.

All my symptoms seen to fit really well with it, problem is there is not much medical help around here on this matter most Doctors never really heard much about it.

if anyone on here is familiar with pots  I'd appreciate any help
thanks

The alteration of heart rate and blood pressure post concussion only lasts for a short time. It would nothing whatsoever to do with this individuals heart rate.

Variations in heart rate such as described are not a neurological issue. Simple dehydration is the most common cause.  Anemia or a low hematocrit could also cause these problems. A scan of the head is not needed nor recommended. You need to have simple orthostatic vital signs taken.

There is also a possibility your peripheral vasculature is not responding appropriately.

As for the heart rate, it is possible you have an overly active atria pacemaker site. Sometimes magnesium deficiency causes this problem.

In any event, try to locate a cardiologist at a teaching hospital. I am not a happy camper with the statement "they can't figure it out".

In times gone by they might have inserted a probe in the cath lab, but today there are non -invasive procedures that can do much of the same thing.

Ask your cardiologist about the advisability of a PET/MRI.

Keep bothering the physicians. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

After a concussion, there can be problems with regulation of heart rate and blood pressure.  It's sometimes part of Post Concussion Syndrome.

You should be seen by a neurologist for evaluation--probably including a scan of your head and maybe a tilt table test--and treatment.

This really is a time to get a specialist into the game.

I should add when I had the stress test EKG done they said my  heart itself looked good meaning no blockages or anything like that, but when walking around or going up stairs I do get short of breath,if i do something strenuous just for a couple minutes i can be so out of breath that I have to sit down or lay down till I catch it again
