well part of it is MH's Terms of service - they provide this forum as a service to members and therein have the right to "censor" what is put in and what isn't - such as links, member information and anything else they deem necessary - have you read the TOS? I haven't but I've read posts where others posts are censored or removed due to the TOS
I believe the ToS are at the beginning when we sign up...but I don't think any of us ever read it or the fine print - that's why I go to the skipping hearts [dot] com website also - there's no censorship like here
Mr. Kenyon gives great answers. I think he knows cardiology as well as almost any MD.
Unfortunately, I'm getting a bit upset by this censoring of so-called competing websites. We are expected to document our statements by references! I'm living in a free country and I'm not used to this. Please, remove it ASAP.
I forgot...sometimes spacing or replacing the . with [dot] will work for links...other times it won't :(
http://www[dot]doctorslounge[dot]com/cardiology/forums/backup/topic-24286[dot]html
take out [dot] and replace with a .
John's also on a couple of arrhythmia forums that are not related to MH :P
google him and you'll see where some of his posts are also (kenkeith from heart disease) along with some members in the HD forums, although I haven't seen him post in awhile so I'm not sure if he took a break or just engulfed in so much to do
Looks good, understandable why MD's tell everyone to get out of here, your ok, nothing to worry about. Then they come here and start thinking they have every problem in the book and they get worse..heh heh
Another way to get to the link is via the author's name and title: John Kenyon, CNA. You can just google it, and the site where he posts will come right up.
Personally, I like the guy's explanations. Given his experience, he could obviously write 'up' if his readers were supposed to be medical professionals, but a major problem on medical topic boards like this one is that doctors often have a lot of trouble writing in a way that's comprehensible to people with no medical or scientific background at all.
Not sure if it will post but its doctorslounge
This website is one that medhelp seems to refuse to link. Perhaps there's something objectionable on a site with a similar name. Nevertheless, I found the post you tried to link to.
You can get there just by copying and pasting cardiology/forums/backup/topic-24286.html into a google search, and the excellent post you are referring to will be the first thing on the page.
Let's see if going at it another way will work: The missing parts of the censored URL that are indicated by asterisks are doctors lounge ******* with no space between the first two words.
just google the whole address and you'll find the site which you can then insert instead of the ***'s - then change the topic # to the correct one - 24286 and you'll see it.
It's well written, but not by an MD, by a CNA. I'm not disputing the basis for his statements, but I think there are more considerations than what he discusses. Particularly in regards to complex forms of PVC's.
what`s with the link ?? :)
