Have you heard of GI issues causing PVC's?

PVC's started 2 years ago for me. I can tell I have gas backed up under my rib cage (both sides) pushing out. I have had so much in there it felt like I had a basketball in there . When that happens PVC's all over the place, and I'm thinking it is causing an overcrowding of the heart and sends it into a funky rhythm. And they don't stop until I take Gas-X or something similar and decompress my upper abdomen. I have wondered if I have a structual issue with my small intestestines underneath my rib cage to cause this phenomenum, maybe something is getting trapped and causes this buildup. Since the PVC's started 2 years ago I have tried many things, and the only relief I seem to get is with an anti-gas med. I have been to the ER 3 times for this, worn Holter moniters 3 times, had EKG's, Stress tests, 2 ECHO's, Abdominal US's, Cardiac workups...all showing a normal heart and abdominal organs. No, I am not stressed out, and I have little to no trouble with Acid Refux. My Mother and Brother exhibit similar upper GI symptoms, my brother with upper BO's, my mom with chest pain & arrhythmias. What is going on?

This may be a fluke, but I had just developed PVCs and PACs.  Rapid succession.  ER last night.  Today, contractions every 5 beats.  Thinking about how absurd it is that there's "nothing to do about them," I took two Calcium Magnesium Citrate Zinc tablets with Vitamin D that I had around the house - slightly outdated.  They stopped.

Further investigation on magnestium deficiency correlated with intestinal absorption problems and ventricular, and other contractions.    I, too, have been experiencing the flank "ball," of late.

Here is one study. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8861138

All I can say is, keeping fingers crossed here.  Perhaps this combination might be worth trying.  (It is surreal going from this sudden attack of contractions to normal rhythm and pulse).

Dear Renee: I had almost the same identical issues you describe and finally found out that I had Lactose Intollerence... It was causing the gas in my chest... I burped all the time...especially at night when in bed.  I all dairy including anything that has even a small amount of dairy in it and was fine in about 36 hours.. I now take the lactos enzynes if i want any dairy and they help ... not completely  but they help.. you might want to try it or at least look up the symptoms of Lactose Intollerence.. I looked them up on the Mayo Clinic website...and thought as soon as I saw the symptoms that was my problem and sure enough it was... Hope  this helps Claytex

I have similar issues.  If I eat too large a meal, have gas or digestive upset it can cause irregular beats.  I do have acid reflux and a ppi is just about the only thing that keeps it in check.  I have gone into afib after a (way too large) meal.  The vagus nerve lies alongside the esophagus and may factor into this also.  Good luck.
