Heart Palpitations?

I have been experiencing what I assume to be heart palpitations for a few months now. I have had them on and off for years but in the recent months I have been having a few times a week.

What I experience is a 'thud' or a hard 'pulse' type feeling in my throat. (on the bottom soft part before the sternum, if that information matters) I might get one here and there but a few times I have had mutiple in a row. The most being five or six. When they have lasted long enough to feel my pulse i have felt that they are skipped beats.
The 'pulse' i get is a skipped beat. I feel the pulse in my neck for the skipped beat but no actual beat in my pulse.
Does this make sense? Like my heart rhythm goes beat .. beat .. beat.. (nobeat here but pulse felt in neck) beat.. beat..
These come any time. I dont smoke, drink, do drugs or even drink coffee and I am in my later 20's.

Are these palpiations? Im going to try magnesium as I've read it can be of help. But would like to know if they are actually palpitations or if anyone else experiences these exactly like i do

I have been to the doctors about this. He is not concerned in the slightest.
Ive had 24 hour holter monitor. Many EKGs. All have been fine.
I have a bad case of anxiety disorder which he thinks is the cause of this.

I do get left sided chest wall pains that come and go. He does not think that these things are related.
I have been having these pains for years and am starting to think it may be costochondritis.

Thanks to all who read and respond! I appreciate it so much.

Of course I can't say for sure but they sound like run of the mill premature beats.  Pacs in the atria or pvcs in the ventricles.  Considering how high up you feel it they are most likely pacs.  You could be experiencing a bit of bigeminy when you sense they are in a row.  In a true row would make them feel like your heart was beating fast but if you feel a lot of pauses in a row that means you are having a couple of beats in between the extra beat.  In an otherwise healthy heart they are of no concern.  Once a spot in the heart throws off an extra beat that spot is always sensitive so they really don't ever go away but we can do things to lessen our triggers.  Avoid caffeine, sugar and carbohydrates.  Anything that causes you acid reflux.  If you work out do a proper warm up and cool down and try to not become dehydrated and of course work on stress and anxiety.  Try to work on confronting your fears as opposed to stuffing them and you may be able to get on top of the anxiety and lessen the amount of premature beats you have.  The amount you are having is not at all a concern but if they get worse go back and see the doctor.  Take care.
