Heart Palps

I have been having some bad heart palpitations for quite a while now. To give some history:

I am a Male, 22, healthy, I have had 2 PSPs which involved surgery on my lungs.

I started noticing heart palpitations when I graduated college. It seems like my palpitations are getting worse and have now flat lined. So I do not sense that the palpitations are getting worse. I visited my doctors about them and they put me on a holter monitor and they didn't have a solution for my heart palpitations. So they decided to put me on beta blocker (Lowest Dose- Half of 25MG), which has helped a lot with my heart palpitations. I can now exercise without any palpitations.

As of lately I have been stressed out at work and have noticed more heart palpitations than usual. Usually the worst palps that I get are in this order: 1 normal beat, 1 abnormal beat, 1 normal beat, 1 abnormal beat and everything will be back to normal as far as heart rhythm.

I currently am on another holter monitor but I am thinking if the results are normal, should I consider going on a higher dosage of beta blocker?

I take 1/4 of a 25mg of atenolol for my pvc's and palps.  If I'm under stress, they do get a little worse and my doctor has always told me to just up the dose to 1/2 of the pill.  I would imagine yours would tell you the same.  After my heart calms down, I reduce it back to 1/4.  Hope that helps.  Frenchie
