Heart palpitations, seeing stars

For a few years now I have been getting extremely fast heart palpitations that last anywhere between 2 minutes to 45 minutes. I always thought that they were brought on by my anxiety (although I was never feeling particularly anxious at the time). However lately I've noticed that I get them when I bob down or lift things up over my head.

Once I lifted something up and it felt as if my heart stopped, I was seeing stars and felt very hot as if I was about to faint.

I'm a teenage girl, not overweight and not terribly unfit either. I know that heart palpitations are considered to be normal sometimes but should I be getting this checked out?

Do you know how fast your heart is going?  Young small women have a tendency to low blood pressure which can create positional near fainting.  I get it when I stand up too quick I will feel as though I will black out and when I am in the shower and bend down when I come back up I can see stars and my heart will start to beat faster to compensate.  To help the situation you will want to make sure you get plenty of water and add a bit of sodium to your diet if you are indeed low.  As well try to avoid caffeine if it aggravates your symptoms.  However, this said there could be other issues going on so it may be prudent to go and get a checkup having your blood checked for imbalances especially with the thyroid.  If your heart is not racing too fast it is likely some simple lifestyle changes will help alleviate the issue however it is best you let a doctor check you out to make sure there aren't any underlying conditions going on.  Take care.
