Holter Monitor Results Help

Hi everyone,

I went to the ER on December 19th due to a racing heartbeat upon standing. The ER doctor ordered all kinds of blood work, a chest X-ray and EKG. The EKG was normal other than sinus tachycardia. Blood work was fine and chest X-ray normal as well. They thought I was dehydrated and sent me on my way with a 24 hour holter monitor.

My primary care doctor's office called me and said that my holter monitor results were ok but everything I'm reading online says otherwise...

The rhythm was sinus.

Monitoring started at 3:19 PM and continued for 23 hr 59 min.  The average heart rate was84 BPM.  The minimum heart rate was  55 BPM, occurring at 8:25:03 AM.  The maximum heart rate was 146 BPM, occurring at 4:10:47 PM.


Ventricular ectopic ectivity consisted of 9 beats, of which, 6 were in run, 3 were single VEs.  The longest ventricular run  occurred at 12:08:12 PM, conisiting of 6 beats, with maximum heart rate of 146 BPM.  The fastest ventricular run occurred at  12:08:12 PM, consisting of 6 beats, with maximum heart rate of 146 BPM.  Multiform VEs were noted.

Supraventricular ectopic activity consisted of 1 single PAC.  The longest R-R interval was 1.2 seconds occurring at 6:40:13  AM.

Symptoms were noted, but did not correspond with abnormalities on the monitor.

So the thing that is concerning me is the run of 6 ventricular ectopic beats when my heart rate was high. Is this considered nonsustained ventricular tachycardia? I am trying to trust what my doctors says that it's fine but I'm terrified that I could suddenly drop dead from this. I already have anxiety and this is making it so much worse!

Any help or insight would be much appreciated.

That's a fantastic report actually.

I would think the 6 PVCs in a row would be NSVT.  In a healthy heart, I don't think NSVT is a predictor or indicator of sick cardiac muscle.

There are other types of electrical issues that do predict possible issues, but you do not have any of that.

It's a pain, I know.  I always suggest to folks to not discount a good conversation with your doctor.  If your doctor doesn't want to sit down and talk about it, find one that will.

I think those findings are pretty normal in people with pvc in a structurally normal heart , as long as echo was done ?
