You should make some more tests (echo and stress) to see if your heart is structurally normal and to exclude coronary heart disease. If your heart is normal, nothing to worry about, reduce stress, coffee, cigarettes and sweets. Walk and ride a bike to strengthen your heart and you'll live long...

Thank you very much for the advice. I hate feeling like this
Don't, synus tach is the most common, when you run that's synus tach. Just try not to worry because it leads to losing your mind. I've been there. So if you think you feel it too often and you might snap, go see a shrink, they're good at anxiety and bad thaughts solving.
Good advice. I do worry a lot and everything. I really hate if I caused this to myself.
Download Headspace app and find about autogen training (I hope it's called like that in english), it's all about breathing and relaxing...

Sinus arrhythmia is a normal physiological process and most of the time it is an indication of good health.
Sinus tachycardia is the normal tachycardia in sinus rhythm, which is normal.
What is your highest rate of tachycardia? It should be indicated on the results page. Were you at rest? Moving? Exercising?

156 and I was not doing anything. I have alot of palpitations and fluttering. Since this started by bp is higher and I am so exhausted
Hi Karen,
Do not fret! The most important thing is that it is SINUS tachycardia, which means that's a normal rhythm. In most cases that's not alarming and benign.
It is still good to go for an echo and possibly stress test. How old are you?
Are you experiencing any anxiety by any chance?
I am 38. Last week I was hospitalized. They thought I had a heart attack but did not. I have been feeling a lot of skipping/fluttering and feels like my heart is going to explode from my chest. My husband tells me I stress about stressing... my bp was controlled until last Wednesday when the fluttering/skipping was worse. Could it be my bp being higher causing it? I am sorry for bothering. I just want to feel better
Hi Karen :)
Are you having anxiety in general? Are you too stressed about your health/heart?
Why did they suspect a heart attack initially. Where there any changes in your ECG back then? Or did you actually think you were experiencing a heart attack? :)
Sinus tachycardia is definitely not dangerous? Did they perform additional test when you were admited?
They said I had abnormal ekg and abnormal heart rhythm. They performed ultrasounds, xrays and did all kinds of bloodwork and that other stuff came back ok. I initially went in for extreme swelling in my legs and ankles and my heart feeling like it was going to jump out of my chest. I follow up with my dr on the 16th and I did put a message in to her to see if she could explain the results before my appointment. The palpitations are very uncomfortable and my heart is racing. I also have terrible migraines that are associated with this. Thank you again.
Hi Karen,
Try not to worry too much as stresa is not a good thing. I believe if there was something critical they would've let you out of the ER.
You need to investigate further what was abnormal in your ECG and rhythm.
Until then, try not to worry too much about the palpitations, I know they are annoying and awful, though.
If you are too concerned or have any sympthoms - try and visit a cardiologist sooner.
Thank you again for your advice I do appreciate it. I was just trying to get an idea on what the results meant. It is horrible feeling like this. Thank you so much again.
No problem, Karen. Trust me, I know how you feel and how scary it is to have palpitations.
Please, update me, once you have additional information.
Keep in mind that if there's aomething else going on with your health - it will affect you heart rate.
Sinus tachycardia can be provoked from stress, fever, anemia, infections and hyperactive thyroid.
So, once you treat the underlying issue, the palpitations will disappear.
