MHR(while working out)

Hi I'm 14 a little over weight (139) . When I run my heart beats get to 185-200 scary enough as this is its followed by whats feels like heart skipping and chest pains. I have loads of anxiety(long story) and this is not helping me. And being 14 I'm very conscious of my body and want to be in shape for high school etc and I want to know if its safe to work out. Recently my heart was racing randomly about 195 for 30 minutes+ and I had an EKG done and turns out I have a right branch bundle block a problem with wiring in my heart. So I was wondering if its safe for me to run? Because all though we did the EKG we never talked about excersize. Soo ya am I fine or so I need to chill out running for a bit.

A finding of right bundle branch block involves a block in the purkinje fibers. By itself it means nothing, some people have it. Basically think of your heart as a highway and the electrical impulses that tell it to go as the cars. The cars follow the shortest route to their destination, but in the case of RBBB, there is a road closing in the right lane. The cars on the right side take a longer route. This can be a problem if the right and left ventricles become severely dysnchronized, and it can also be a finding in some more serious issues such as Brugada Syndrome or ARVD, but assuming those possibilities have been ruled out and it has not caused a major dysynchronization leading to a "malginant" form of early repolarization then you are good. There are procedures that can be done to allieviate the RBBB, but that may not/will likely not be neccessary. The only reason to worry this may be more sinster is your symptomatic history. If a qualified cardiologist and/or electrophysiologist clears you then you can rest assured things are fine. They are aware of your RBBB and will be able to tell you if its genesis is benign or malignant. Trust them. As for your max HR, it is totally appropriate for your age. The 195BPM run of 30+ minutes was during exercise right? If it was while you were just sitting/standing/walking around then I would consider that you may have been in SVT. I would seriously doubt it was VT, since 30 minutes of VT would have likely degenerated into something far worse, so I'd guess this is originating from your atriums and since you are too young for A-fib, I'm guess SVT, which can be taken care of with an ablation procedure if you desire. Again, that is only if your 195 run was during rest, not exercise. If it occurred during running you are absolutely fine in that respect. Any further questions? Feel free to ask.

A heart rate of 185-200 is perfectly normal during workouts especially in someone younger whose body isn't fully developed yet. I'm not sure who ordered your EKG or if you've been seen by a cardiologist, but I would tone down on the running just until you see a cardiologist. Stick to light exercise for the time being until you get it all figured out. I'd bet it's nothing to be concerned about but it wouldn't hurt to hold off for a few weeks till you see a cardiologist and they can explain everything to you better.
