Moderate physical activity with Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia?

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia after having severe panic attacks last year. Somehow extreme episodes of stress was to blame for this condition and have been trying to cope with it ever since. This condition doesn't seem to be too bad and I am trying my best to live a normal life. The only problem is exercising, this heart condition makes me exercise intolerant. It is hard to get any physical activity done without my heart going crazy. I often experience shortness of breath and exhaustion with little exertion doing things like walking up the stairs and lifting heavy objects. I am a 24 year old male and I'm about 5'10 and only 120lbs. Before I got this condition I was planning on going to the gym to start gaining weight and living the healthy lifestyle but it seems that is not going to happen anymore unless this condition goes away on its own. I'm asking if there is anybody with this condition that is still able to get any physical activity without having their heart beat out of their chest? Even advice from people without this condition but knows someone who has it would be appreciated. The only thing I can do that seems to be working for me is walking around my neighborhood with my dogs.

One other thing.  If you haven't had your thyroid checked you may want to get it evaluated.  If you have hyperthyroidism that could be part of the problem.

You are small.  Your weight may be part of the problem.  How many calories do you take in, in a day?  How much protein do you get a day?  How much water do you drink?  I would try to work on eating more obviously not junk food but more food in general and drinking more water and see if that helps.  If your blood pressure runs on the low side you may want to consider adding a bit more sodium to your diet but only do so if your bp is consistently low.  You can also ask the doctor for a small dose of beta blocker and see if it helps your heart calm down a bit.  Other than that the heart becomes conditioned over time.  So start out slow with just walking and see if you can slowly build up to a fast walk, then a slow jog.  Make sure you have eaten a half hour prior and have drank some water.  Bring water with you.  I do understand that IST is a bit more tricky to treat but try a few of the things I suggested and see if it helps.  Best of luck and feel better soon.  Take care.
