PVC runs--very unnerving

I've had PVCs on and off for 20 years (I'm 39 now).  The good news-my PVCs are less frequent than before.  I generally feel between 0-4 each 24 hour period.

However the ones I do get are far worse (worse feeling) than before.  I almost always throw 2 or 3 "big ones" in a row.  It feels like an ETERNITY before my heart resets to normal.

Is this cause for concern and can I take solace in that my heart will definitely reset to a normal rhythm?  Honestly, during the episodes I feel like "this is it" (as in the end).

Thanks,
James

Thank you for sharing with me.  Yes, MUCH easier said than done but I think the more you find out others are experiencing them too and have been told they are healthy, the easier it becomes to try to deal with them.

I get those as well, it lasts less then 5 seconds but if feels like fireworks in my chest, all over the place. I will move to stop try to stop it, its the weridest feeling. Doc told me its probably PVCs or PACs. I would not be worried about it if I were you :) Easier said then done, trust me I KNOW!

I guess the 2 words that come to mind for me are history and faith.  You have had these for 20 years and nothing has happened.  This is a good indication that your situation is a controlled one.  The thing to rest your faith on is the fact that the medical community truly believes that pvcs are of no consequence in pretty much any way shape or form in an otherwise healthy heart.  Of course there are no 100% guarantees in life but odds are you are going to die from something other than pvcs.  And even bigger odds are you will have ample warning if things start to get worse for you to reach out for help.  So trust in your ability to know what to do when or even if trouble were ever to arise.  In the whole scheme of things we are all going to die from something.  It really is a fact of life you cannot escape.  But it isn't much of a life if you spend it fretting over every heartbeat.  Try to not let your pvcs rob you of a carefree life.  If you are really struggling to come to terms with them, I have them as well and they can be extremely distracting, there is no shame in seeking out professional help to help you reconcile that you may have pvcs everyday for the rest of your life as well as help you overcome any fear of death that may be holding you back from enjoying your life.  You really do deserve to be free from these things holding you hostage.  Just try to do your best to make it a point to not let them interfere with your happiness.  You may not be able to control your pvcs but whether or not you let them rule your world is something you do have control over.  Stay strong.
