Pacemake induced heart problems

I am 56 year old healthy except for Brady Cardia 30 bpm.  Got a pacemaker Nove 34, 2014 started feeling good until January 1st then started to have chest pains. Today January 9th I am in the hospital for Atrial Fibrillation (150 bpm) and flutters and they are trying to drop my heart rate.  Could these be caused by the Pacemaker?

Yes my concern is a defective pacemaker. It seem to b running fine from Nov 24 to Dec 31st.  Then by accident someone hit my pacemaker real hard. I had some immediate pain and then I started having chest pains.  That evenyually resulted in afib...not sure what to think...

Just guessing but I think not.   The pace maker should be active only when you HR goes below some limit, of course you know that.  Atrial Fibrillation (a subject "too" near to my heart) is as you know a high HR...that is the PM should be completely silent..if not, then a malfunction of the PM..?? don't know surely the hospital has checked that.  While one might be suspicious that the doctors may be reluctant to "blow the whistle" without a lot of solid facts, I am sure none would ignore a malfunctioning PM.
