Palpitations

What is the normal amount of skips to have in a 24 hour period?  I sometimes get none and sometimes get 3 a minute for hours then they just disappear.  I feel every one of the darn things.  I have a totally normal heart I have been told but I can't believe these skips are not dangerous.

hi! Boy..if I could say I only had 3 a minute...I would be the happiest person.......... but I cant, and Im not trying to make yours any less concerning, because even ONE of those things is too many! Ive had them for 18 years. When Im having a "bad day" with them--I admit, I cant NOT take my pulse. I havent been able to conquer that yet. So, when Im having a day full of them (like today. Like right NOW)...I may count 10 in a minute. And that happens not every single minute...but throughout many minutes of a day..and may continue into the next day..and the next...etc...
Im with you..Ive had every test too..and told by 2 cardiologists and THREE different regular doctors throughout the years, that they are stress related..and benign..and to "just ignore them". I too, find it hard to believe they arent dangerous..but ..yet...Im still here....and so are all these other people that come to this forum to get some answers....so hang in there....its darn tough, thats for sure..but come back here often..it does make ya feel better!!!

Hi! I can understand how you feel. I've had those "nasty little" PACs and PVCs for over 10 years. Mine are mainly PACs. Totally benign!! Sometimes I would get them every other beat for a couple of hours. Yuck-even if they are benign. At the beginning I too had a hard time believing they could be harmless. Made myself down right miserable for awhile worrying over them, not to mention my family and possibly my doctor. THAT just caused more of them. LOL!!!

Honestly reading about how other people also had them and had lived with them for years helped. Sometimes it is good to commiserate. Just don't wallow ;)  Finally I decided to stop obsessing over them and even down right ignore them as best as I was able. Distraction. Sounds impossible, but it isn't. Most of the time in recent years I just don't really notice them. Don't get me wrong, I have my moments.

Like goingcrazy said, don't let them control your life! :)  Eat healthy. Stay hydrated. Get some exercise. Watch your stress. Get some rest and try to keep your weight controlled. Yeah, yeah, I know! That's what they all say! LOL!!!

I understand completely. There are days where I only have a few episodes. But then there are days when they come constantly for hours on end. Three a minute may feel like a lot but I can get much more. Mine will do something like beat-beat-skip-beat-beat-beat-beat-skip and so on. And I do feel most of them. Sometimes I just get a feeling in my chest and I know they are happening but I don't take my pulse because I just don't really want to know how many I am having. That will just lead to anxiety issues so I try to forget about them. Sometimes I can but mostly I can't especially when they happen right before bed time. They are the worst for me. Ugh!

Try to relax and not think about them. I know that is hard to do. Don't let them control your life as mine sometimes do. As long as your heart is healthy and the doctor says everything is okay, you are truly okay. But if other symptoms start, then don't hesitate to call/see your doctor.

You are not alone. There are many of us who have PVCs. We all understand what you are feeling.
