oh wow I didn't read your post just your note :(
this is VERY serious as I said before with your VF; get them to do this now before you have another event. If these keep happening you can have heart muscle damage from these events - you're so young and don't want to have to go through that on top of what's already wrong with you.
It's giving me shivers just reading this - please please please call and get into that dr or someone else asap and refuse to leave until they implant your ICD
Also; ask first for a cardiac MRI if you haven't had one (sorry I can't remember) to check for ARVD and other infiltrative diseases - after you have an ICD implant they usually can't do the MRI.
Hi Sillyheartihave, I remember your previous post on your v-fib episode. Back then I was thinking you needed an ICD. This event points in that same direction. This is two very close calls.
Are your parents involved in this? maybe they can step in to advocate for the ICD?
You might want to be evaluated for Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia (ARVD) too, just to rule that out, if you haven't already.
No, I don't have any particular heart disease knowledge (the doctors do), but this is, as you say, more about that something isn't right here, and no one should have to take risks like this, especially when you're 19 years old with an entire life in front of you.
Sillyheart: I'm really worried here, and I really wish you the best..
As the mother of a 19-year old and a PVC/PAC sufferer, I really have to wonder why someone your age, who has already gone into cardiac arrest, does not have an ICD. Your post concerns me and although I don't have the heart knowledge that issomethingwrong has, I can tell you something does not seem right. PLEASE see a doctor ASAP. Praying for your heart health sweetie. Please keep us posted on your progress.
Hi,
Wide complex tachycardia is often identical to VT (another word for VT). There are some special cases where supraventricular tachycardias can manifest with wide complexes, but given your situation with cardiac arrest, wide complex tachycardia is VT until otherwise proven.
If you had 8 hours with runs of VT (which has earlier degraded to cardiac arrest) you should demand an electrophysiological study ASAP. I guess I said this before, but don't leave the hospital before this is done and/or an ICD is implanted, or at least a diagnosis is given.
I really shouldn't answer this question. It's something a doctor should do. But I feel that I have to. This is serious and you need professional health care.
Good luck. I hope you'll be OK.
oh and i was in the arrhythmia for about 8 hours
