Pulse Rate

I had RF Ablation of the left ventricle for a AVNRT, Atrial Flutter & SVT's around Aug. 2007, which afterwards my symptoms remained and actually got much worse.  I went to another Doctor who ran many more tests, I then had another RF ablation this time on the left ventricle for AFib, SVT's, PVC's on June 12,2008.  I still have chest discomfort and some arythmia including very short episodes of AFib, though I am much improved.  My blood pressure is very good, usually around 112/75.  Though, my problem is that my pulse is now high.  Anywhere from 100-117 at rest, on a daily basis.  I get very tired and have terrible headaches.  The doctor put me on Cartia to try and lower the pulse 2 weeks after my surgery, which has only lowered it to around 100-1003, it is not working.  I am also on Coumedin to help stop clots from forming, and Rythmol to help control the rhythm of my heart in which I was informed I should be off of those two medicines in a couple more months.  Do you have any idea why I am having such a high pulse rate, is this normal???

I am going to my cardiologist this Thursday.  I am just so tired of the surgeries and tests.  I am a 33 year old female.  I have already had a Cryo ablation and an RF ablation of my heart, had a monitor implanted in my chest so they could monitor my heart.  I used to have terrible full body seizures due to the AFib cutting off the blood supply to my brain, but that has ended since the last ablation.  The pulse though is high constantly and the doc not sure why.  Though even on meds it is around 100-107 beats per minute.  I know they can either do another ablation, this time of the sinus node or put in a pacemaker.  Doc seems concerned though.  I hope it resolves as yours have.

I had an elevated pulse rate of each of my two ablations, lasting a few months. Eventually, my HR normalized.  Not sure what brought about the temporary change??
