heart

while my husband was getting to be moved to another floor...  a intervenous line was removed and his pressured dropped....and had to be brought back   why or what would happen

Although I would rather know more events surrounding this, men, more than women, have a tendency to vagal out when they rec'v an IV and sometimes with removal.  You don't say whether they just disconnected the fluid or removed the catheter.  If it was the latter, it could have been a benign vagal response.  If it was just the line, I agree with above.

thanks  and I think that is what happen.  It was really scary to see and to lose him after all he went through would of been sooooo gut wrenching,.. but no worries about that now  he is improving.  Thanks again for feedback

Hi, my guess would be that the IV line was giving him fluids and then when they removed it, he didn't get enough fluids and that is why his blood pressure dropped.  If they made him get onto another bed or guerney for the transfer to the other floor, his blood pressure could have dropped just because he was moving, the gravity makes all of the blood go to the feet.  Maybe that is why.  Good luck, hang in there!
