Skipped beats(palpitations) and pregnancy

Hi everyone how r u all?
I hope you all having good Easter holidays x

So as most of you know I'm 26years old female, mother of one child age 4, I'm having these horrible heart palpitations since my child was a month old, and after that there is a long list of medical tests, holter monitors 24hr, 48hr and 7 days as well, had an echocardiogram in 2012, have seen cardiologist, electro physician and my GP as well they all think it's normal and I'm just a panicky person which brings my palpitations more, I had CBT sessions as well for over a year for my anxiety which i think helped me a lot to understand my palpitations more,
Right now I'm on propranolol 40mg

I want to have one more baby but I'm very scared of my day to day PVC PAC skipped beats high heart rate weird feeling in chest and body sometimes my left arm goes numb Pins and needles sometimes my left arm hurts , and all these symptoms I never had in my first pregnancy
I'm very worried, I'm not happy with my primary care here in UK, I have changed my doctor as well,
I want to make sure everything is fine inside me
I want to have more blood test one more echocardiogram and maybe another holter monitor but all saying im fine
The only thing they say different is: my cardiologist said slowly slowly come off from beta blocker and my GP said that he can prescribed me a beta blocker which is safe during pregnancy
Sorry for my long story but is anyone here who had or anyone they know had same problem as me and had a safe pregnancy and problem free labour as well
Thank u all

I'd suggest asking your doctor(s) if they believe that you're in a position to have another child at this time. If you're having such varied symptoms that already impact you so drastically, perhaps you should consider postponing pregnancy until you can find doctor(s) who can help you better alleviate or control your symptoms.

I am sorry you haven't had any responses.  I am a female with heart rhythm issues but I was never on meds and never had children so I do not have experience to give any practical advice on being pregnant.  I am also not sure anyone can tell you whether or not you are healthy enough to have a child.  The tests you have had seem to indicate that all is fine but only a doctor can really say for sure.  I have read that panic and anxiety can cause some of the pain and numbness you are feeling as well the meds may be contributing if your bp is low in general.  Beta blockers are used for palpitations but it is first and foremost used to lower bp so it could be lowering it too low for you.  I can't say for sure but do think you should talk to your doctor about the symptoms you are having to rule out any changes in your heart especially if these symptoms arose after you had all those tests especially if those tests were done years ago.  But from all I have read you should be safe to have a baby though the palps may get worse as the baby begins to put pressure on your heart and stomach.  It likely presses on the vagus nerve which sends signals to the heart causing it to act up.  I think the biggest, best thing you can do is try and find some stress management tricks like yoga, or medication or zenning out in a way that helps you release anxiety.  Stress and anxiety are definitely big triggers for the palps as well stomach issues due to irritation of the vagus nerve.  But stress for me is my biggest trigger but unless you are having somewhere around 20,000 a day they are not considered a danger.  I try to look at them as simply extra heart beats.  The biggest concern with them isn't the extra beat but whether or not it throws the whole rhythm of the heart off into a dangerous rhythm.  But in a healthy heart without disease the odds are almost nil that it would happen so the less we stress about the extra beats the less we will have of them.  But at some point if we do have them we have to learn to accept them because they may likely never totally go away but we can trust that our hearts know what to do to work around them.  I can't make any life decisions for you but I do suspect that any doctor would tell you it is safe to have children but if you are at all concerned then by all means seek a second opinion.  And I honestly think maybe you might want to talk on one of the pregnancy forums.  There seems to be a few different for different ages.  Maybe if you went there you might find women who have had successful child births while also having these palps.  It could ease your mind a bit.  But I am truly sorry you having gotten a response sooner.  I know that can be pretty upsetting.  Anyways, best of luck and I do hope that you can get on top of your anxiety one day. Take care.
