BionicBabe, just curious why do you have an ICD?? I would love to hear your story. thanks

I think heart palpitations cause anxiety. That's why there are so many people on this site with anxiety, and the doctor is correct. The people who aren't worried aren't here. They're off living their lives. I know lots of heart patients now. My uncle, for example is 79 years old, has an ICD, has had several heart attacks, his EF is very low and he plays golf everyday and works full-time. He loves life! I am actually beginning to have less anxiety now that I have an ICD and am on Beta Blockers and now that I have a diagnosis that my EP is very confident about. It was the not knowing and having those strange heart beats that made me feel anxious. Now, I mostly come on here to share information in the hopes of helping someone.
Hi there,
I know how much anxiety this causes. . I'm sitting here with my monitor on right now and have an appointment with an arrhythmia specialist tomorrow. I was diagnosed with NSVT in Dec. of 06 and it can become overwhelming and very scary with each palpitation. I try deep breathing exercises when they get to be too much for me. I don't know the outcome of the monitor I am currently wearing but feel the stress each day and can't wait to get the results.
Do you actually feel the runs of VT? Or was is something they only catch on the monitor? I don't feel a run per say but just a palpitation.
Anyway, good luck and keep us updated as to your success.
God bless,
Melody
Could the klonepam and cardizem have caused the v-tach since I was on three prior monitors and they only found pac's and pvc.
No, they would not cause VT. It is common to have trouble capturing infrequent tachycardias on monitor.
Can Anxiety cause v-tach or artial flutter. I know I have read no but everyone on here is suffering from anxiety and heart issues there has to be something linking the two.
People come to sites like this looking for comfort. By that very nature, it is going to attract people that are worried. The people that aren't worried are looking at this site. I think you are seeing selection bias of the people that come here for information.
Any new breakthroughs on reproducing v-tachs so I can get this removed?
Nothing new. I have had people with known tachycardia come to the lab and be non inducible. Sometimes multiple trips to the lab are necessary.
Can v-tach cause the other arrhythmia’s I had?
I don't think I understand this question. The VTach is probably unrelated to the atrial arrhythmias with our current understanding. I would not be surprised if there was link in the future, but not yet.
What are some other options I have that have not been exhausted?
It depends on where the VT is coming from in your heart. Calcium channel blockers and beta blockers sometimes work. If it keeps coming back I would consider repeating an EP study.
I hope this helps.
