I am a 40 year old male, generally healthy.
Over twelve years now I had an ablation procedure done for Ventricular tachycardia, since then the tachycardia has not returned, apart from a few runs of palpitations. I would also say I have felt the trigger for my previous condition but nothing happened. The specialist at the time told me that it was a complicated procure and my heart was "weird"! anyway they said they felt it was at least 80% successful.
Over the last two years or so I feel like I have been experiencing twitching and spasms in my heart area, this has not seemed to effect my pulse. It is very strange to explain to be honest, it almost feels like it is always there but when it is dull in the background I barely notice it, thus have been putting off thinking about it. At other times it feels much more noticeable, I almost feel as though I am having palpitations but my pulse appears normal. When its bad I feel like my heart/chest is tired and I have a dull headache. I feel no actual pain, just tiredness.
around a year ago a had all the tests done again, echo cardiogram, ECK, 24 hour monitoring etc. My GP said nothing was wrong, my heart specialist at the time said the same. That this feeling was all in my head. The thing is I don't feel it is, I defiantly feel some kind of irregular spasm/flutter in my heart area which is not matching my heart beat. I also asked if it was possible that some old electrical connections from my previous condition are trying to re connect causing the "feeling", but was told this was not the case.
So basically I am left with this strange spasm in my chest, its very unsettling as I almost feel like the tachycardia is on its was back, batting for that connection again as my procedure seems so long ago now. I been ignoring it as am at a lose as to where to go, it it anxiety, is it stomach issues, muscle problems etc.
I don't really know what I am asking here to be honest, maybe another opinion, is it possible to feel these electrical connections causing problems even though its not effecting my pulse? I have looked into it being linked with stomach issues but it feel so concentrated in my heart area so I don't know. I am planning to return to my doctor to see what else it could be as its defiantly something, but I don't look forward to the "phantom symptoms" response.
