Hi there -
We have removed the ad that caused this, so you shouldn't be getting anything new. I wonder if you have removed it from your computer. I'd run a virus scan with your anti-virus program (make sure it's up to date first), and our engineers recommend www.malwarebytes.com to check for malware. They have a free program that should suffice in getting rid of this.
Please let us know if we can help in any way.

I just reported it again, hope this clears up, it is awful annoying.
I wrote one of the Mods and they informed me all was well, so, you should not be getting that anymore. I had it once too, but not since it has been fixed.
Just had another pop up today so there's still something goin on.
The fix is in. I didn't see any issue yesterday at all, none today either.
same thing happened to me too... I will do that CTRL ALT DEL like tom said too.
This is the best way to stop the malware if it runs on your machine. If the malware activates, don't touch or do anything. Press the CTRL key, the ALT key, and the DEL key all at once. Then select "Task Manager" with your mouse. You be taken to the "Application" tab automatically. If you're not, selet the tab manually. Then you'll see a window with all or your tasks running. Find the Explorer window with the malware running. It easily identified. Left mouse click on the task and it will turn dark blue. Then select "End Task" at thebottom of the screen. This will stop the task and eliminate the malware window at the same time. Then "X" out the Task Manager.

I have had this happen several times as well. Its frustrating.
It doesn't happen to me (or hasn't , or I haven't noticed, is that possible?). I am browsing with Firefox 4.0.1 and I am sometimes irritated when its "pop up blocker" blocks something I want. But, to my knowledge, Firefox notifies me it has blocked. It may be blocking some without telling me.
I also us Avira and SuperAntiSpyWare... not sure any or all of these are good, but they are all free and, as said, I haven't seen the problem described in this thread.
Same thing happened to me Sunday evening and again tonight. I shut my computer down the first time to stop it. I checked my computer protectionand it said my computer was clean. I had to do a restore files to get videos to work, (youtube) . It happened again just a few minutes ago. I quickly took the battery out of my computer and then put it back in and started it again. Again, I looked at my pc protection and it showed that my computer was safe. The popup came so fast both times, I can't say that I noticed what it was.
Thanks for the advice Tom. That sounds a lot easier that shutting everything down or taking out the battery.
Hi everyone -
Can you all do me a great big favor? We need more info from those of you who have been affected by this, so could you all PM me with the following info:
1 - when this first happened, if you remember?
2 - what you were doing when it happened - had you clicked on a link, just reading a thread, looking at a tracker, etc...?
3 - what browser you use, and what anti-virus program you use?
4 - And what process is it, if you have been able to turn it off in Task Mgr?
Thanks! To send me a PM, just hover over my name and choose Send Message. This will help me have everyone's info in one handy place.

Yea that's what I thought. The ad is coming from a 3rd party that medhelp uses to feed their banner ads. It's a java script security hole.
Tom, I've done the same thing, good point. Task manager is the best way to kill it. No matter what you click it'll try to download an executable. best way to avoid it is to kill the process in taskmanager.
Go to www.malwarebytes.com . Get their free software and do a quick scan. It's good stuff.
Let's try this again. The board doesn't like the great and less than characters.
Yes, I get them too! I get rid of them by doing a ctrl, alt, delete, then selecting Task Manager, then stopping the offending process. It's very easy to fall for the pop-up! I suspect everything though so I didn't bite.

Yes, I've had the problem for a couple days including this morning. Aggravating!
