What does all this blood work mean?

My doctor has sent me to get a very big panel of blood work, but I wonder what he is looking for. Can anyone tell me what these mean?

Creatinine (eGFR)

Alk. Phosphatase

Lipid Assessment

ANA

Ferritin
CRP
ESR
Rheumatoid Factor

Serum Magnesium

This is basic bloodwork.  Your doc is looking for ANY abnormality of body function which can be detected by blood tests:  Is your thyroid working OK?  Are you anemic?  Stuff like that.

It's nothing to get excited about.

Sodium - electrolyte (abnormalities can serious cause heart related symptoms)
Potassium  - electrolyte (abnormalities can serious cause heart related symptoms)
ALT - liver function, I think
Alk. Phosphatase - liver function
Bilirubin
Lipid Assessment
CBC
TSH - thyroid
free T3 - thyroid
ANA - related to some autoimmune disease
Serm B12 - vitamin B12
Ferritin - related to how iron gets stored in the body  
CRP
ESR
Rheumatoid Factor
Anti DNA (Double stranded)
Cortisol - related to stress
Serum Osmolality
Serum Magnesium - magnesium levels (abnormalities can serious cause heart related symptoms)
TCO2
Immunoglobulin
