PAC's after eating

First diagnosed with A Fib about 5 years ago. Went on Toprol XL and dr. finally added Digoxin.  Only had spells about 2-3 times a year.  A new flutter sensation appeared 4 months ago - wore monitor and dr says its PAC - not to worry. They drive me nuts all day long, off and on and put me on higher dose of 200 mgs. Toprol/ day but still has not done away with them. I have noticed that I can predict that after I eat the PAC's will start - breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Of course I do have some in between but these are the times they really kick in.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Oh yes, my A Fib didn't even show up on last 30 day monitor.

I have almost the idenical problem after eating. I was diagnosted with Afib several years ago and take coumadin as a precaution to stroke. I get a episode of Afib occasionly. Lately the PAC'S have come after eating  any meal. I limit the amnount I eat and that seems to help. As I have a hiatal hernia the my heart doctor says that the hernia my touch the heart sac and trigger the PAC'S. If I walk about a mile or so after eating then I don't get the PAC's.

After an afib episode I started digoxyn for 6 weeks. As a result, the PAC's drove me crazy frm the digoxyn.  Stopped the med, and the PAC's are now back to 'normal', like alot after eating, soon as I lay down they start up for awhile, moving from laying to standing or vice versa seems to start them up.  But digoxyn is a hellish drug for me.

Thanks for your input.  My AFib seems to be under control with the Digoxin. My new problem is PAC's.  I have an appt. with other Cardiologist for second opinion.  I have recently been hearing a lot about ablation - some good, some not. This morning soon as my feet hit the floor the PAC's started.  Do you have any of these problems?   Thanks

There has been a lot of research in AFib.  The kind of doctor that works on these type of problems is a certain type of Cardiologist called an EP doctor.  They can do all kinds of things to try and rid you of the flutter and other symptoms.  After they have diagnosed your AFib they can perform an ablation procedure or different kinds of electrotherapy.  After this physicians will generally use an A fib post ablation monitoring program  to see if the surgery has been successful.  Depending on the physician and the technique used there are different success rates.  I would try and get a second opinion.  Lots of people have the same symptoms that you do.
