Call the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland OHio. This hospital will help you with travel and stay. They will do the ablation; trust me I was the same way!!!! 1-800-223-2273. Go the best doctors ever!!! Even though I didnt like it they were really good.
Just as another example, I am in constant/permanent atrial fibrillation and neither my regular cardiologist nor a consulting EP would do an ablation to try to rid me of AFib. The reason? My symptoms and my toleration of blood thinner doesn't justify the risks associated with the ablation. I'd like to get rid of AFib, mostly because of some fatigue (may be a combination of AFib and medication) - otherwise I feel fine.
This is another testimony that ablation, while "safe" isn't risk free.
{kick my brain into gear} I just drew a blank and cant edit my post...grrr lol 37 per hour isn't correct but darned if I can remember the equation to do it right now..grrr sorry
Pvc's are extremely annoying and scary to say the least, but if you're feeling them at that amount are you sure you don't have anything else wrong? Stress anxiety and lifestyle can contribute greatly to pvc's and you may need to look at changing something to help alleviate your symptoms.
At your rate if nothing else is wrong, medication may help with your case, have they mentioned that? 37 pvc's per hour is not a huge amount, I was having 37 per minute and very reluctant to have an ablation to rid me of mine. Surgery is not the cure all and they may come back in another location, quite a few of us have had multiple procedures for various reasons.
The typical advice is to medicate at 6,000 - 8,000 24/hr holter and surgery at 15% - 20% 24/hr (there's a few posts on this in the expert forums about this you may want to search)
And the doctor may be thinking that the number you're having is not even close to being dangerous to your heart while an ablation is rather invasive. It's like removing all your teeth and giving you dentures to fix a small cavity. At this stage you're not having even one a minute. I'm sure they're annoying as the dickens for you but the important part is they won't hurt you.
PVC's are difficult to ablate, there location in the heart are hard to get too. I had an ablation in January and my pvc's were originating to close to my artery to ablate. I was placed on Atenolol after my ablation to control my pvc's. The Atenolol has done the trip. Good Luck!
