Pacemaker itself can cause AF due to the programming.  My doc reprogrammed and shut down some functions.  My AF disappeared.  All he prescripted before: Flecainide, Digoxin, Atenolol, verapamil can go into the bin.  Also, the holter monitor report mentioned "ventricular runs" is not meant to v-tach.  It is ventricular pacing.  When my pacemaker is pacing my ventricle, I feel like an express train is running in my chest, sweat and exhausted.

Yes, with the pacemaker, you still can feel the irregular pulses.  It depends the programming what the doc set to.  If he set to permanent pace at ventricle then you might be unable to feel one.  But it is the stupid setting (permanent pace at ventricle) for a non pacemaker dependent.  Normally they set at mode switching (sense and pace) so they also know/recording the heart events base on the switches.  I can feel few beats (I'm not sure was V-tach or V-fib) came because my pacer picks up 2 beats late.  It was told by the technician.  Well, the ER and CCU doctors thought that my pacemaker was not working......  Only my EP can explain to them.  Also after the stress test, my heart stopped.  Pacer kicked, the beats came for about 5 or 7 beats then stopped again. It kicked again..... repeated like that.  My EP said, "it is normal"!?  With the pacemaker, you still can feel your real heart beats.  It depends on the setting only.

Take care.

Well it appears you must be an expert "text message" person, and I think I figured all your neat abbreviations out...but I end up with more question, so maybe I don't understand.

I believe on has their normal heart pulse timing shut down when a pacemaker is installed.  So how can you have heart rhythm irregularities?  So, I must misunderstand.  At least my post my attract some better input from those who know better than I what is expected when one has a pacemaker.

Sorry to read you are having such heart problems and at such a young age, but at least your young age should help you adjust and heal..wishing you the best.

PS, if you are suffering from AFib, I think you should do something to mitigate formation of blood clots.  The strong way is Warfarin (a prescription), but perhaps a simple aspirin a day can suffice, assuming your only risk factor is the AFib.
