fluttering/spasm in chest

I have suffered with fluttering in my chest for many years, every time I get put on a 24 hour monitor I never seem to get one. I've mostly learned to just live with th, they don't happen often.

Typically when I get the fluttery feeling I only get one and it's over before I can reach up to feel my neck and see if I can feel it. Earlier today I had that flutter hit me and it didn't stop after one it was like a constant flutter/spasm feeling and when I felet my neck to feel my pulse I could not feel it al all. As soon as the fluttery feeling went away my heart was racing. Has anyone else not been able to feel their pulse in the carotid artery during a flutter? I am so scared and have been all day thinking it's going to happen again.

Not sure what it is and it is something that can be hard to catch on a monitor.  I would try to cough if it happens again to see if you can get out of the rhythm.  Also sometimes if I have gas it can set off a pattern of pacs and when I burp it goes away.  I would try to not stress.  In an otherwise healthy heart it is mostly likely nothing to worry about.  If you notice it happen at least once a month you can ask for an event monitor to try and catch.  Much better than a one day monitor which usually doesn't catch the more transient issues.  I would suspect if you had monitors in the past you have had your heart evaluated by an echo.  It would be good to have one if you haven't but in general most premature beats, even pvcs in runs aren't a big threat unless there is damage to the heart already.  But they are scary so also try to work on the fear.  Take care.
