my heart rate is almost always high?

I’m a male 24 who started having anxiety and panic attacks last summer after smoking some weed which I’ve been smoking for 4 years before that with no side effects at all. All of a sudden after the first puff my heart rate reached more than 300 as the nurse said when I reached the hospital. I was in the states and I did all checks needed for my heart, chest and even CT scan, everything seemed to be normal or actually above average. It was all because of stress as doctors said. So I contacted a psychologist and started to attend sessions 3 month ago. I have improved quite abet; I don’t feel my heart beat in every muscle of my body anymore neither sudden vibration of soft muscles. I also took some herbal remedies which I think also helped me out. I’ve been smoking for almost 9 years now but since that incident and when ever I smoke a cigarette, drink some alcohol or do any activity lets say taking the stairs, running, or even holding something my heart rate increases dramatically. I feel really uncomfortable and as if I will die. Yes one more thing, for about two month now I’m having lots of gases in my stomach and it pushes hard towards my chest and heart when ever I eat causing few problems even in my digestive system which also was related to stress as doctors said. I lack energy all the time, sometimes I get too sleepy after eating a meal. Its really confusing and I don’t know what to do!

I'm a 23 year old male and last year i started having the same problems as you.
I was worrying constantly about high heart rate, and ofcourse everytime i worried this gave me a high heart rate - which becomes a vicious cycle.

Then it started become clear that i had stomach issues. Were the stomach issues there before i started having high heartrates, or did it only start after? I'm not sure.

Whenever stomach gas pushed up against my diaphragm (and vagus nerve?),
i would get high heartrate and lots of pvc's... this made even slow walking very uncomfortable and difficult.

What helped me was:
- chewing my food more thorougly
- eating enough, but not more than my body needs
- stopped eating sugary snacks ALL THE TIME.
i believe this was exhausting my pancreas because it needed to produce a lot of insulin.
the pancreas also aids in secretion of digestive enzymes for the stomach, so when u exhaust the pancreas with sugar the stomach probably stops working properply in some people.
- i stopped eating food with gluten in it
(instead of bread i now eat brown rice. i can't tolerate oats either, even though oats don't contain gluten)
- i don't eat 3 to 4 hours before going to bed
- i don't eat too salty or too fatty
(but remember: the body needs some salt and enough fat. also saturated fat!
- i supplement my body with olive oil, this contains some saturated fat but also a lot of healthy fats.
- i gently rebound on a mini-trampoline. i try to do this 2 to 3 times per day for 2 to 3 minutes each time. gently rebounding (not jumping) while keeping the intestinal muscles relaxed, allows the intestinal muscles to bounce up and down..

this means you get an internal massage, which stimulates bloodflow and proper function of the organs.
- i don't worry anymore because worry = high heartrate (because of adrenalin)
and in my case worry = more pvc's
- i don't have any drugs, not even caffeine or aspirins/ibuprofen/etc.
they've all given me heart or stomach issues in the past and that i don't want anymore.

In any case:
make sure you're not diabetic or borderline diabetic as they can cause the kind of symptoms you are having.
If you can't stop worrying read the book "hope and help for your nerves" by Claire Weekes.

All of your heart and stomach symptoms COULD be caused by some of the things i just mentioned,
but they could also be caused by something physically wrong with your body.

When the doctors don't find anything wrong with you and when you've gone through
a good number of "episodes" without dying, i think it's safe to say you can relax because your symptoms aren't going to kill you soon...

and hopefully things will get better...
I'm not completely cured but getting there (i hope)

Good luck yourself

Its better you see a physician as soon as possible and stop smoking and drinking.

I agree with Kay here.

Another important thing: Stop smoking!! (both weed and tobacco)!

If you've had an event with heart rate in the 300s due to smoking, it's a fairly good sign that you need to stop immediately.

your doctor can give you a beta-blocker called propanolol, this is used for anxiety, fast heart rate, migraines, and more, these work by stopping the adrenaline therefore if you panic when you take these you wont get palpations, ive had them for mild anxiety and worked for me, im fine now, the gases from your stomach also make your heart beat a little faster
