posistion of extra pathway

Hello everyone

As i have mentioned before i am due to have an ablation for WPW but am just waiting on the date.  I recieved a copy of a letter today from my EP Dr that he sent to my original cardio Dr and family Dr. Basically i was just wondering if anyone could dumb it down abit for me, as i would just like to no where the position of my extra pathway is. The letter basically says i have a left sided pathway, that is likely to be in the left anterior-lateral position. My EP Dr did draw me a small diagram and pointed out the area, but i just want to be abit clearer on it.
Thanks again

thanks for the info guys. Glad yours was successfully ablated Tom. My EP Dr did tell me he thought it was in a really good place to ablate, so hopefully it will all go well and get sorted.

Is is where mine was located.  It was around the location of the valve, and was successfully ablated with 17 burns.

To get to the location, the electrophysiologist will most likely have to pierce the septal wall of the atria.  In my case the septum overlapped but didn't completely seal shut, so he threaded it through much like the crack in sliding doors.  I needed no healing time as I would have for the puncture.

Left = left hand side of heart
Anterior = front
Lateral = sideways running
