psvt

Ok I was diagnosed with psvt and u had an ecg done that showed I had 3 beats with 15 runs in 24 hours.....so does that mean I had 15 psvt in 24 hours.  Can someone explain thus to me.  Dr said the psvt went up to 130bpm.  I am not on meds and dr acted like u dud not need any really unless I wanted it.  Can someone explain to be what all this means and tell me if my heart is getting weaker bc of the psvt.

Again, PSVT and SVT are the same thing.  People often just drop the "P" as the word just means, sudden or a burst.

How will you know?  It's always good to mention it to your doctor.  Jot down the dates that you have it and the length of time that you had the event.  The more evidence you have, the easier it is for the physician to treat it.  I lived with it for nearly all of my life.  My cardiologist finally talked me into getting it fixed three years ago, and I've been free of it since.

PSVT and SVT are one in the same.  The "P" for paroxsysmal is often just dropped.

A PVC is typically just a one beat event although many people experience two or three in a row.  More than three beats is considered Non-Sustainted Ventricular Tachycardia, NSVT.  Supraventricular is a completely different condition.  You should read up on these two to understand the difference.  No, your heart is most likely fine.  I experienced over 50 years of SVT and competed at high levels in several sports in my younger days.  My SVT was cured three years ago with a procedure that eliminates the source of the problem.

Yes, you had 15 occasions of 3 beat runs.  While it technically may be considered psvt aka. svt, 3 beat runs are very brief compared to sustained runs of minutes and often hours. Also, 130bpm is very slow for svt where rates from 220 to 260bpm are common. At this time, I wouldn't sweat it a bit.
