there is hope

It's a long time since I posted and I used to be very active on this site. The good news is that for the last 6 months I have been compltely clear of both PVC and SVT incidents without any drugs or procedures.
Those of you who remember my posts will be aware of my determination to live a 'normal life' and in particular to keep climbing mountains in all weathers. Last April I was up in Scotland with snow still on the tops and managed 7 MUNROs in one day which took me 10 and a quarter hours. All this from a start point of not daring to walk anywhere away from my car!
I also spent a lot of money on my teeth having all mercury fillings removed and replaced with ceramic fillings and got rid of gum infection and abcess problems.
Also I take CoQ10 every day with a good multivitamin and mineral supplement and take care to not go to excess with alcohol which is my number one 'trigger'
Also I use the vibrations from certain crystals to help stabilise my own vibrations.
Thanks to all who used to give me encouragement and information and if I can be of help to any of you please drop me a message.
I wish so hard for all of you to get to where I am now and cannot stress too much the benefit of fresh air and walking. It's believing that you can take those first few steps and then feeling your body respond slowly but surely until you become fit. I am not a believer in the 'hamster' style of indoor exercise as to me the benefit is being 'out there' in nature.
Love to you all
dave

Great to hear from you as you along with Betty were the first people who helped me on this forum and you both helped me so much.
I remember all the things that you have had to live with and it sounds like you've got plenty to cope with at the moment.

interesting comments - but I did start from the point where I could not trust myself to go far from the car for fear of passing out etc, beta blockers under my tongue. This was six years ago and I gradually forced myself to go for it despite the fear.
From local parks I moved out to low level walks and then into the peak district A couple of years there and I ventured to North Wales and climbed my first real mountain and now I am out there 52 weeks in whiteouts, blizzards etc all on my own and often do not see anyone up there all day.
I have started a mountain club at work and now take groups of 15 plus into the mountains nd am considered to be the fittest one there. What a laugh!!
Had I waited I would still be living like an anvalid.
I have to live by my hard found ' trigger' rules but apart from that i lead a normal life. So for me pushing through did work and the places I get to in the mountains are where I go to in my head when things get bad.
As for the crystals I am a very logical person, being an accountant, and I was very sceptical until I proved otherwise to myself by some very interesting experiences. i do not regard them as a cure but teor steady vibrations can be a useful comforter.
Good luck with your progress.

What a nasty thing to happen and take it steady until your body gets stronger.

I'm glad to hear your are doing well at present, Dave. I would prep yourself for when it comes back again though. I don't think the fresh air and exercise have much to do with your being asymptomatic. Rather, I think being symptom free let you return to being active. These arrhythmia tend to be chronic and degenerative (but not necisarily dangerous).
I was a professional athlete in olympic shape when my symptoms came on (outside activity) and I now return to being active only AFTER my symptoms go away for at least a few weeks. But they always sneak back in to pay me a visit after a few months. My doc says this is the typical presentation.
I don't want to rain on parades but I do want to align expectations. And I don't want this to turn into a forum that forwards crystals as a possible cure.

To nice to see you on the list Dave and I'm so happy to hear you are doing so well.

I haven't posted in a few months either After I broke my hip in January I had very few AFIB incidents (is there a connection I wonder?)  It seemed that when I had another problem to worry about (the hip healing) my heart decided to behave to give me a break.

Finally, 2 weeks ago I was allowed to begin some slow jogging. So far so good, although the muscles have atrophied some so get tired very easily.

And now I'm dealing with LOW BP!  (see post above) which is very uncomfortable as I feel completely exhausted and light-headed

But enough about me  - so glad to hear everything is going so well with you.

Greta

welcome back Dave, good to hear from you again, and really wonderful news about your pvc's!!! I've had similar good news, I've been taking fish oil and it seems to help me! I still have them, of course, but no "attack", no really bad episode, it's like a miracle for me. I feel almost "normal". I keep coming back to this site, every now and then, as I feel our "experience" with these dreaded things might help others. And it does help me, to read about others experiences as these skips are like a disease, and unless you've had it yourself, I think no one can really understand how it feels, when your heart skips or runs away a 100 miles an hour! It's plain scary. But all we can do is hang in there and live life to the fullest, and hopefully find a way to keep the skips under control.

Great to here from you again and fantastic news that your ablation continues to be such a success. I feel like you that although we are now symptom free that if we can help others with the terrible fear and give hope then we must do so.
I will keep popping in to the site, have a read and see if there is anything that relates to my experiences so that i can perhaps help.
All the best to you too Betty

Hi,

I am so happy to read your post!!   I was wondering what had happened to you.  What terrific news you are sharing with all of us.   I couldn't be happier for you that you are doing so well.  It just goes to show that if you are determined to find an answer , you will find it.   I'm sure you will be a big inspiration and help to others.
I'm also doing well, thank goodness.  Since my ablation last Aug. for AVNRT, I haven't had any SVT episodes.  My first plane ride is coming up and it will be such a relief not to have to worry about the SVT starting up on the plane. That  was always such a big fear of mine when I traveled before.
Keep in touch and I truly wish you all the best, Dave!
Betty
