weird drop feeling in chest

I have been having some weird feelings in my chest as of late. There is no pain, just this weird "drop" feeling, like my heart is getting ready to stop beating, I call it a scared heart, feels like when you get scared how it feels like it skips but I get this while doing nothing. I can be sitting watching TV and if I move just right it feels like my heart stops. I sometimes get this feeling that I am going to pass out and I have to catch my breath.
I have had numerous tests ran, the only thing they say I have is MR (mitral regurgitation) which they say is common, it commonly referred to as a heart murmur. They said that I have a "misfire" on my EKG reading but "nothing out of the ordinary" I have been in and out of ER's and in and out of hospitals, I do suffer from anxiety but I am not anxious and when I get these feelings my pulse is usually pretty low, between 65-70 so I know its not anxiety causing it.
I am a 42 yo woman, not as active as I would like to be because of this problem, used to be really active. It seems to be controlling my every move. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Increase your B12 and protein. Check your Amylase and MCV levels. I’ve had similar issues like this and that helps. Try your best to be stress free (almost impossible). Exercise and prayer will reduce your stress level. At least this is what I do. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

What I have figured out is gas an gerd can be culprits. I have this only during gas and gerd or after prolonged coughing .

I'm so glad I found this, I too was having trouble describing this "drop" feeling. I saw a cardiologist in August 2016 and in September went to an ER and had an EKG, ECG and had a bunch of other tests and was told everything was fine with my heart, they couldnt tell me what was happening or why. I'm feeling it several times a day now, I'm a 39 year old female, I dont take caffeine or alcohol, non smoker, but I recently started having anxiety symptoms...started in April after prolonged exposure to mold in my workplace. I was sent to the ER for what appeared to be a stroke and was later diagnosed as a "complex migraine with aura". Since then Ive been very sensitive to chemicals and medicines...example: I took 2 Benedryl and started having convultions and spent 2 days in the hospital for a "distonic reaction". This weird drop feeling has been happening daily for months...all throught the day, seemingly unprovoked. I'm hoping what Ive read about stress or anxiety bringing it on is true!?

I am glad I found this. I've been having that same feeling. It's been going on for months now. I suffer from anxiety. I also have been in out if the ER and the doctors say nothing is wrong. Its really hard to deal with. I try avoiding going to sleep unless I am really tired and have no more control over falling  asleep. Have any of you found anything that can help get rid of this feeling. J tet really scared when it happens

Yeah I get this feeling aswell it's about 2yrs now it's like a sudden shock or flash in the chest area like the drop feeling u describe but I get a lot of wind afterwards aswell sometimes I start burping but that initial shock feeling scares me which seems to make it worse cause my adrenalin kicks in, its like when ur under some sort of threat or pressure the doc didn't recognise the symptoms when I've told him but I do suffer with anxiety and stress.

You probably had a Premature Ventricular Contraction or PVC:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premature_ventricular_contraction

These premature beats are normal.  Eveyone has them, but *NOT* everyone feels them.   The questions are these:  Can you do your ordinary activities without fainting or throwing up, in spite of your awareness of symptoms?  If you can, you are probably OK.

There is a strong relationship with anxiety.   Talk with your doctor.
Omg. I get the exact same feeling and the burping too. That makes me think its just gas...but it feels like so much more! I'm tired of being told it was a panic attack! The sensation caused me to panic!

I get the same feelings described on here....infact i just got out of the hospital yesterday after a whole bunch of tests and was told that it was not my heart, so i came home from the hospital after being there for two days and i still have the same feeling in my chest - the feeling comes and goes....i get a tightness in the middle of my chest and cant breathe and also at times i get pain in my neck going up to my jaw and left arm, as i am typing this i just got a dropping feeling in my chest which is so scary. I do not know what is causing this, as before they discharged me from the hospital yesterday i  was told it was not my heart - i have been to the hospital three times in the past three years with the same problem, and everytime i am in the hospital for a few days they do a bunch of tests and send me home saying it is not my heart, the symptoms eventually go away and then return after a few months. I do not know what to do as it is ruining my life, i am in constant fear that i am going to fall dead any minute and as a result i am in constant anxiety and stress. Thanks Anastasia

I'm 16 years old and have only recently started having this feeling for the past like 4 days. Iv'e recently noticed in the past 4 days that my heart would beat faster than normal and I'd get the exact same feeling you guys described a couple times a day but they don't compare to the feeling I just had 3 hours prior to writing this.

>>>>>>>>>>MY EXPERIENCE THAT HAPPENED 3 HOURS PRIOR TO WRITING THIS<<<<<<<<<

It's currently January 2016 6:37am whilst I'm writing this and I haven't had any sleep at all due to the feeling I just had. It started around 3am whilst I was watching a movie. My heart started beating faster than normal and I'd find myself taking deep breaths. I started getting the exact feeling you guys described. This felling was worse than the feeling I've had the past 4 days, same feeling just allot worse. It feels like my heart is going to stop beating. It's Similar to the feeling of guilt, butterflies and that feeling you get when you're about to fall asleep but imagine you're going to fall down some stairs and then immediately wake up but all combined together in your chest. I can confidently say it's the WORST feeling I have felt in my whole entire 16 years of life, it's awful I felt like I was going to die (I AM NOT EXAGGERATING IN THE SLIGHTEST BIT). It got to the point where I couldn't watch the movie anymore and ended up turning my TV and PS4 off. After that I went on my iPad and googled "weird feeling in chest", whilst I was reading your comments it noticeably got ALLOT worse so I turned off my iPad and decided to try and go to sleep but couldn't. I found myself trying to calm myself down by trying convince my conscious and body that everything was going to be okay and that I didn't need to panic because I proberally didn't have anxiety or something like that. After 3 hours of trying to sleep my body finally calmed down and the feeling went away. It's now 7:57am and I've been writing this since 6:37am trying to get every detail I can.

I saw some people in the comments saying that they have recently stopped smoking marijuana. I have also recently stopped smoking marijuana, not sure if it's a coincidence or something to do with the feeling we're having.

I get the same symptoms as you described.  I do not know what it is.  No doctor has been able to help when I described the symptoms.  They would say we have to monitor you to see what is it is.  But, when it first started happening I took an 81mg aspirin and that actually alleviated the symptoms and resolved the problem. That has worked for the last couple of years now.

However, as of late it started to get worse happening more frequently.  So, I changed from 81mg to Bayer 325mg and that started to work as well.  The sensations went away and stayed away for days and weeks at a time.

Let me know if this helps any of you.

I got the same thing years ago. Was tested all types of ways. It stopped. Now it started happening again. It's scary & also effects my brain. Sometimes I feel I will just drop and who knows. Is this a serious question
It's actually happening right now. It's scary. It really is scary. It's effecting my brain also, chemical imbalance I think. That's why I been on Zanax. But that not working much either now
When I am like this I want ppl around.  So if something did happen I wouldn't be Alone.

Wow.... I goggles this because I've been recently to the ER AND doctor. I've been getting that feeling too! I DESCRIBED it as my heart, flipping, it is happening more often, I stopped smoking marajuana, @felinameow send it back.   You already opened a case, and they approved it dear...  ITS NOT EVEN PENDING, it's approved, meaning, they aren't waiting to hear my side, they just said, ok, send it back. So be it. Sorry this didn't work out.   I told you from The begining, I'd sent you the Manuel ( that by the way, you can get it online) and the cables, but I had no problem sending it.  I  haven't been active on posh for 4 days, because I was in the hospital (long story) ,  I though maybe that made it worse.... Had 3 EKG done, blood test and X-ray , and they say I'm fine, no sign of nothing worng. But this is where you right TCHILD, you have to listen to your body, nobody cares as much as you do. I BELIVE I had the same thing you do, hopefully when I get to wear the  monitor thingy they catch it, I've been having them today often, all day, so I'm pretty sure they will see something, and ITS NOT ANXIETY, I'm ise to HAVINF pa ok attack now,mi know how to control them.  It the scariest feeling ever.... I feel multiple things , heart palpitation, so,eti,es, heart racing and the feeling like you heart jumps and makes you cough... It feels like a baby flip in your chest! Horrible! I'm glad you found out what it was.... I'm def. asking my doc about that

Hi
I have been siffering for the past year or 2 with a similar issue , i am having them as i writing this.
it feels liek my heart beats harder than it should , i can feel it beating in my chest allot when i have these outbursts. i do suffer from anxierty but i really do not think that is the issue .
it seems to be worse when i exercise , everytime i exercse my heart rate goes through the roof even from minimal amount which i feel is not normal . somtimes i am ok but sometimes i have to stop because i feel like im goign to have a heart attack , i am onyl 20 years old and am waiting to see a specialist about this . i have had ecg's done which all came back fine but ta the time of having them i felt fine. i do drink on a weekend which anyone my age does . but i am fit healthy , eat well , go to the gym .

it is getting to the point now it is really worrying me , i feel like i am going to die soemtimes , and when my herat feels funny i always get the wantitng to take a deep breathe feeling . i do worry about it whcih i know doesnt help , but i have had anxiety for yearts and this is not the problem as when i am fine i dont worry . its only ewhen my herat feels funny.
sometimes it feel like it skips a beat or when i exercise it beats allot harder than it should and i get breathlessness through it .

can any one give me some reassurence as what this could be as it really is ruinigng my life ?

Did you ever figure anything out with yours? I am a 31 year old male and what you describe sounds alot like what I have been experiencing for the past 4 years with no solutions. Doctor's have tried seemingly everything. It mostly happens during exercise for me as well. Anything you ever found out?

I found that the drop feeling in my chest is my heart. I moved to a different state and had the same tests performed over again, and yes they even did the event monitor again, and yes I caught an episode, I am now scheduled to have VTablation done. Sometimes you have to listen to your own body and not what over priced drs who dont care about nothing but their paycheck. I found a dr who listened and was genuinely concerned about my health. Him and his practice spents months doing test after test to find I have arrhythmias, and to get rid of them they are going to go in and burn the area that is causing them. It got to the point I couldnt even function let alone hold a job, anxiety was NOT the problem. Thank you for all your comments and your advice, but sometimes its best when we listen to our bodies and take care of ourselves and MAKE those that we pay good money to to help take care of us LISTEN!

First of all systolic blood pressure at 90 is not a bad thing at all you have slight hypotension which in many countries is not considered a threat unless blood pressure falls significantly that blood does not reach organs, which is not the case here. Also you mentioned your pulse rate which is perfectly normal. The sypmtoms you have are not assoisated with heart problems and are more likeley trapped gases or gerd. One thing aswel that makes things worst is your anxiety to the sypmtoms you are experiencing.  If you cant get a peace of mind then ask your doctor to perform an ECG, some blood and urine tests to check hormones, a 24h blood pressure monitor and a ultracardiogram, although i am sure that ecery test will come back within reference range. This will eliminate you thinking there is something wrong with you when its something completley normal. I hope all goes well and take my advice as I have had allot of hyperchondriatic patients. Live your life and take care.

I have noticed lately that my pulse runs way low, between 60-75 when at rest, when it usually ran 75-80, my bp has always been low, 90's over 60's, but this feeling scares the tar out of me, literally makes me feel like I am going to have a heart attack and that my heart is just waiting for that right moment, drs think I'm a nut Im sure, today I had that "scared" heart feeling several times, I actually had to stop what I was doing to set back and not get overly worked up about it. Makes it a bit easier to know I'm not alone, thank you all for the advice :)

These sound like regular pvcs/pacs to me too. You tend to get them more when your heart is going slowish, and they're also more noticeable,  giving you that horrible drop feeling,  like someone stuck a hoover in your chest for a second. The longer the pause before the next beat, the more they tend to take your breath. They're perfectly normal most of the time and some people get thousands a day, like every third beat even, but they can certainly feel pretty bad. Especially if you get a few in a row. Ugh.

I have GERD to top all this, and the drs keep telling me that alot of what I feel may be contributed to it, that making the vegas nerve mad tends to upset the heart. But when your body weirds out on you its so hard to keep those positive thoughts in your head and to keep from freaking out :(

I am not on any meds as my body is hypersensitive to medications, just a normal tylenol will knock me out for a few hours, and I have so many allergies to medications to top it off. I do, do alot of deep breathing, and I wore a holter monitor for a month and the "episode" I caught on it the drs said there was nothing wrong.
Today I got up with a numbness in my ear and through out my left shoulder, I tried to work but it feels like my shoulder isnt there which sets off my anxiety and my lightheadedness and all the other garbage that comes with the anxiety.
