wpw ablate or not?

Hi! I have some decision-making trouble, so would really appreciate any advise!!!  I was diagnosed with wpw syndrome after having a number of prolonged episodes of high heart rate when I was 20 years old. A few years later I had an electrophysiology study which confirmed the high conducting rate of the AP. There was an attempt to ablate it but without success (it remained manifest itself on the ecg) as it turned out to be in septal area. The doctor that performed the procedure didn't dare to take that risk but I was then told that "my symptoms should/might be less bothering now since he burned around a bit". I indeed didn't have any episodes (even forgot I had wpw) ever since for 10 years until now... I was referred to electrophysiologist (another hospital as I live in a different place) who made me do a stress test which showed persistent delta wave everywhere. He recommended  another ablation. But I was hesitant.. After researching it, I figured the risk for SCD is quite low (but still), my episodes are not frequent and the symptoms I feel are not that severe. I feel kinda healthier now at 33 then when 10 years ago at the age of 22 before the ablation.  So, I feel like strange to undergo that burning needle under x-ray torture but in the same time that small risk rate and age related atrial fib risks don't let me to stop thinking about it. What should I do?!?!

What should you do?... I'll tell you what I'd do.  Unless you're episodes of SVT are several times a month, or unless they really impact your lifestyle, I'd do nothing... for now.  You will most likely find that as you age, your episodes of SVT will increase in frequency. The longer you wait, the more electrophysiology and ablation technology advances.  As you know with WPW, there are certain circumstances that make you prone to SCD.  BUT..I would think that your during your prior electrophysiology procedure, they should have gathered enough data to determone whether you had this set of criteria that would put you at risk.  That fact would possibly change my decision.
