advice appreciated

Over the weekend I developed what I found out was a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. Unbearably painful! I went to the butt doc Monday and he said "let's take care of this today" so he put me on the table, numbed me up (holy hell) and then cut into it and removed the clot and he said the vein. He put in a desolvable stitch also. Today the pain is much much better but my question is about the bleeding. I keep gauze over it and change it many times but it has a horrible smell! How long is this going to linger? Anyone have any experiences?  It makes me feel paranoid and my boyfriend is coming to visit in 2 1/2 weeks and I'm horrified I will have this nasty bloody smell still??? Please help!
Also how long after would it be safe to resume anal play if at all? :/

Hello there kaygrill,

There are actually things you can do to stop the bleeding. First you can try warm water. Soak for 15 minutes daily for 3 times. Warmth of the water can help calm and soothe the inflammation. It may help reduce the bleeding and clean the area as well.

If you don't want it warm, you can do cold compress. This helps alleviate swelling and irritation. This can help in reducing the lesions on tissues which are inflamed which results to reduce bleeding.
