Severe rectal pain, fissure or hemorrhoid?

For starters I am a 26 year old male I am in dire need of support. This is an embarrassing topic to say the least. My body has a wonderful timing system as I cannot see a doctor as tomorrow is New Years Day, let alone the topic alone to bring up to a nurse or doctor, or family is embarrassing.

But yesterday morning when I woke up I started to get some rectal pain, I went and bought some Prep H which doesn't seem to help anything. At the top of my anus near the crack I have a swollen bump that is very tender to the touch. I cannot see it to determine what color it is or anything.

But it is unbearable. I can't sit, or stand or walk Nothing is comfortable. I have some old Vicodin I had previously form Kidney stone attacks and that is all that can give me some minor relief. I cannot even think of what brought it on. I have soaked in the bathtub today at least 3 times with epsom salt, tried witch hazel.. Nothing seems to alleviate this pain. I don't know if it is a fissure or a Hemorrhoid or what the difference is between the two for that matter.. All I know is I need some support and ideas, that would be fantastic! I need pain relief.. I have never previously had anything close to this wrong with me besides some minor hemorrhoids in the past that just used to itch and bleed..
This is absolute hell.

UPDATE: Turns out it was an Perirectal Abscess.. The most horrible experience of my life. They used local numbing shots that did little to ease the agony of them slicing it open and draining it. I think the entire northern hemisphere heard my screams. But luckily, it shall heal and I never want another one of those again.. Probably the most painful experience of my life.

Thanks for the response. After ending up in the ER last night due to an onset of stomach pain to go along with it. The doctor diagnosed me with a rectal abscess, I had an IV of antibiotics and got some to take home as well as well some percocets. Keeping my fingers crossed that the pain lets up.

Always best to get advice from a medical practitioner but if it appears as if it originates from inside your anus then a prolapsed hemorrhoid could be it. In that case apply KY lubricant or similar liberally and attempt to gently push it back in. The pushing back in is painful but once it pops back into your rectum you will feel immediate relief.

K me and the wife just looked at it. Just a swollen lump, not discolored or anything like that yet. However, still unbearable.. Anybody?
