answer please experts

I am female. I had unprotected sex one time with a man that lasted 1-2 minutes max and he did not ejaculate. Is it possible I could have got HCV if he in fact had it?

Eric you have always helped anyone who has any questions whether it be: about meds, second opinions, sides effects. or cheered others on when they are down or applauded when they had some good news.

I respect everything you ever post.

I also know that you do not post without some kind of back up to your answers.  Whether it be your own experience, or the things you have read.

With that being said, I believe we all tried to help Julz, and is she isnt willing to get the help she needs, whatever that may be, than we can do nothing more for her.

We also add a little humor to some posts, because sometimes thats the only time we may laugh for the day.  and its not poking fun at anyone its just Humor to get us through
tx, waiting lists, sides, docs, etc..etc.

Now i think this thread has run its course!  Julz please get the help you need.

Eric i always look forward to your post!

Trinity, Deb,Marcia, Trish, bill and everyone else, I think we have tried to help Julz.

Oh no, i did not think you attacked anyone, i have followed your journey closely and have nothing but respect for you and the way you handle things. You also provide alot of great info here without coming across as a know it all. Good luck on your PCR results.

Trinity, I'm sorry i came across so harsh, you seem to be able to handle yourself quite well.

I agree with you.  The only reason I posted is that people are taking this thread seriously.

There are some very sick people on this forum and many of us are taking drugs that have severe side effects.  We have enough to deal with without people making a joke out of the forum.

I did not attack anyone.  I simply posted my opinion backed up with some data.  I am sorry of anyone saw that as an attack.  I simply want these posts to stop.  If you look back on this thread, you will see the same thread started over and over again.

Quite honestly, I hope July has sex until she has a smile from ear to ear.  Just don't post silly questions 7 months after the event.  She should just take her own advice and see a doctor.

Thank you very much.  I was not going to comment on this issue anymore because it just seems pointless.  I had indeed noticed the same questions being asked on several occasions as well and THAT is what I based my comments on.  Thank you for posting those.  Also, Derby, I am mature enough to know I don't need to belong to an exclusive circle to validate who I am.  I have enough confidence and don't need constant reassurance so sorry, I don't qualify for the high school club.

But if they are trolls are you not giving them the attention they want by attacking them? It just seems by rewarding bad behavior they win.... If you ingnore them would they not soon give up? It was not my intention to stir people up here. Just seems easier to ignore.

I don't come to the conclusion that people are Trolls without doing some research.  There is no way for me or anyone to know if you really are.  Here are a sample of your posts.  If you really believe that no one on the forum knows what they are talking about, why do you post the same type of question over and over again?

I hope all the posters that think this is an elite group, read these posts!

Other than a few forum posters, like for example teak, no one else knows what they are talking about on this fourm! everyone gets their information from the internet, which is the absolute worse source of information! If you are a worried well like myself GET OFF THIS FORUM. I to spent too many hours listening to people who read HIV articles and studies on the illinformed INTERNET and think they know everything. If you have a question or worry ask in the doctor forum. the body is also a good place to get answers as well as aidsmeds. Call the CDC is you have a specific question. Though they do have a CYA attitude they give you the info as it is. Mostly everyone by 3 months, very RARE cases take 6. THATS IT! Dont listen to people claiming 12 or whatever because its b.s. and even the so called documented cases are sketchy and not clearly proven. And all these so called cases involve other factors anyway ie-depleted immune systems, PEP.  Do your self a favor and stay away from this forum it is dangerous and full of nerotics that dont know jack.

what are the chances

ok so i had 3 unprotected exposures. i tested out 5 months (20 weeks) from the last one. the other ones are 21 and 22 weeks. what are the chances with a 20 week negative turning positive later? is there a significant difference between 20 and 24 weeks that it would change?

Just wanted to clarify. We have had a lot of people come in and post the craziest things, kicking up a total storm, just to provoke ppl on this forum. That is why we are reacting this way. Ppl have been banned due to improper behavior, etc. and then they have come back under new names and made things difficult. Even though I am fairly new to this forum, I have witnessed a very nasty episode of just something like this. And also several trolls. So it is not that we feel we are an elite group, but most of us are seriously ill and that is why we are here. So please excuse us, if we suspect someone being a troll.

WOW, what is this forum???? Just a elite group???? Reading some of these posts seems like high school all over, just a circle of girlfriends, a click. If you don't think someone is "legitimate" or their a "fake" why bother posting to them??? I really don't think someone here that is really sick is lacking the attention they need.

I was diagnosed while I was still living in NY and I got a letter from the doctor saying that they would be reporting it to the government - I assumed since it is an infectious disease that they do this as a matter of routine everywhere.  I hadn't really thought to check if every state reports or not.

i was REALLY upset by that letter I remember...it just felt like such an invasion of privacy and you know when you are first diagnosed how desperately you don't want ANYONE to know - I was mortified like there would be a big red X next to my name.  Now who'd actually be seeing that x I have no idea but at the time...........I was just out of my mind at the thought.

Now of course I'm glad that they do track these things but then - wow what a different story!

JULEZ - go right back to the clinic that tested you for the other things and just ask them to do it. They don't need to know a big song and dance or anything just tell them you believe you might have been exposed and need to be tested. Sex or drugs or transfusion....all are irrelvant.  You could have gotten it from the doctors office or a nail salon for all they need to know.

i have ordered a test and the only reason this discussion is ongoing is b/c forum members are asking me questions about my exposure and what not. i get the idea now. sexually transmission of hep c is rare but im going to test for peace of mind. thank you all for your help especially those who didnt immediately assume i was a troll. i may have some ongoing thoughts and worries over things i shouldnt, i will look into that. thanks again and i wish the best for everyone.

The same here in Denmark.

Same here in Canada.  Infectious Diseases and STD's, once diagnosed, are reported to the Public Health Unit and tracked.

I thought that Doctors were required to report all infectious diseases to the CDC so they can track outbreaks and find trends. I could be wrong, but I also thought that was how it worked.

Not sure if that is how they tracked the recent outbreak in NV to that one clinic or not.

Kinda like the FDA tracks down our salmonella infected tomatoes.

You have been a member of this forum since 11/07 and are asking questions you could have searched the archives for.  I don't think you are legitimate and if you are just get tested and allow others who are really sick to get the necessary attention they need from those on this forum.

Julez9012:

The blood bank (ARC, etc.) will notify you if you’re results are reactive/positive.

NYGirl:

Huh? I believe I’ve heard that (possibly) the state of Connecticut has a reporting policy; I see you live there, by the way. To my knowledge, there is no national HCV registry here in the US. If someone has other info, I’d be curious to know.

" I have already been tested for chlaymydia gonnorhea syphillis HIV more than 6 ... and hepb immune........................"

I don't understand why you would have had these tests but hesitate to tell a doctor that you think you might have been exposed to hepc.

To me - that makes me wonder about all of the validity of everything you are saying. I'd be much more embarrassed about the list above than hepc I'll tell you that. Why didn't you have them mark off hepc on the list of diseases to check for when you had all of the rest done?  Why test for B and not A or C?  Just makes no sense to me.
