Hi Folks,
I have been on treatment for almost 2 1/2 and lately have noticed a gradual decline in my platelet count since i started treatment. Over the past 5 years, I've had a liver biopsy, 2 fibroscan and several CT and Ultrasound with minimal to no fibrosis. I'm schedule for a new fibroscan in April and was wondering if liver damage could be progressing without being picked up by these procedures. I've always had stomach problems attributed to Gastritis mostly RUQ pain that moves around.
2017 - Last fibroscan 4.4 kpa confirming liver Biopsy - No necroinflammation
6/2020 - Ultrasound 6/2020 - Unremarkable
9/2020 - DNA - undetectable
9/2020 - Hbsag - 2100 down from 2600
11/2020 - AST/ALT - 18/27 respectively
I'm wondering what could be the reason for the platelet down trend. I've always had mild neutropenia and a full peripheral blood smear analysis back in 2017 revealed nothing serious.
Please help me understand if anti-viral therapy could be the reason.
Thank you and god bless!
