Do these results indicate I'm infected with Hepatitis B?

Hello, I've received these results via email from my doctor. She said I would need follow up tests but indicated a recent exposure or acute infection.

Result: NONREACTIVE

HEPATITIS B VIRUS SURFACE ANTIBODY, CLA
Result: 2,263.28 mIU/mL

HEP B SURFACE AB COMMENT
Result: REACTIVE

HEPATITIS B VIRUS CORE IGM
Result: NONREACTIVE

HEPATITIS B VIRUS CORE IGG+IGM,QUALITATIVE,CLA
Result: REACTIVE

That means you have been affected by hbv, but now the hbsag has been clear and hbsab is deverloped. However, the virus DNA is still inside the live cell because the cccDNA is still there. There is rarely case that the virus can relapse.

No. It means you don't have Hepatitis B and you are protected, being the fact that you have antibodies against the virus.

Thanks for the response. Would you have any idea from these results why the doctor would say I need follow up testing?
Also, the doctor just reached out this morning and is now recommending close family members be tested based on my results.
you should follow the advice.
