My Son is My Life

My son got
1st shot of Engerix B at birth in Oct-2008 Plus Immunoglobin.(My wife is HepB.carrier)
2nd in Nov-2008
3rd in March-2009

Tested in Nov 2009

Cutoff rate is .....................1.00 (Test Performed by CMIA)
Please note that this is a screening test for Hepatitis B Surface antigen, performed on third generation CMIA Architect i 2000 (3.12) employing chemiluminescent microparticles immunoassay.

HEP.B Surface Antibody...Reactive (0.27)mIL/mL.
Cutoff rate is ....................10.0 (Test Performed By CMIA)

Re-Tested in Jan 2010

As per my physician's advice, i gave him another dose of EngerixB on 24th December,2009 and checked him again on Jan-26 and new results are as follows:

HEP B. Surface > Antigen..Non-Reactive (0.61)
Cutoff rate is .....................1.00 (Test Performed by CMIA)
Please note that this is a screening test for Hepatitis B Surface antigen, performed on third generation CMIA Architect i 2000 (3.12) employing chemiluminescent microparticles immunoassay.

HEP.B Surface Antibody...Reactive (94.04)mIL/mL.
Cutoff rate is ....................10.0 (Test Performed By CMIA)

Is he fully protected now or requires more doses?

HEP.B Surface Antibody...Reactive (94.04)mIL/mL.

your son is very well protected and safe, the minimum is about 50, and he has no chance to get cronic hbv

if you want to be sure just check hbeab and hbc ab, they are probably positive and he has cleared the virus already and if not he is protected by hbsab at 94.04

I think your child does not have HBV and does have antibody to protect him.  Not sure how to strengthen the HBsAB value though.
