Good Wishes Needed Please

We are hoping to adopt a HBV infected baby from China. Problem is that China won't let HBV infected parents adopt. I'm hoping to find out tomorrow if they will waive this for this situation. Fingers crossed.

Woohoo on the adoption progress.

Re: US...think nothing and it will be nothing.  Did you see susan's story on your thread:

Congrats on the being allowed to move on with the next stage of the adoption process. I didn't know you were going in for an ultrasound tomorrow zelly, but I hope all goes well for you. And yes, it will be nothing to worry about. Will you get any feedback from them tomorrow? I always ask the guy taking the xray or ultrasound.."Do you see anything there I should be worried about?" They always ease my mind by saying "well we are happy to let you go home." So try that tactic tomorrow and it may mean you don't have to wait a full week before getting your worries eased lol. You will be fine. What time is it tomorrow? I will send out scottish positive vibes....

Sounds good! Baby steps in the right direction. Hope you soon hear more baby steps at your house.

About that US…..Of course it’s nothing! No worries….just positive thoughts.

We have been OK'd to move on with the next phase of the approval.  Will keep you posted.

Also, kind thoughts appreciated for my ultrasound to follow-up on the liver lesions believed to be benign hemangioma.  Going in tomorrow morning. Not sure how long it will be for results.  Usually at least a week. Its nothing right? Right?

Just read this... I know its a bit late but good luck with the adoption.... Down with the silly rules and up with the whole reason of adoption.... There are too many children nowadays let down by crazy rules whilst others (namely celebs) get to pick and choose who they want thru legal loopholes. I'm just happy you are considering adopting a child with or without HBV... I know he/she will go to a good home.

Much love!

Thank you, Everyone, for the kind wishes.  We are still in the preliminary stages here. Waiting on a letter from my doc to complete our application.  Will update as things progress.  Keep her in your thoughts.

Oh, she only has until the end of May to get placement or she goes off the international list.

Thanks everyone! It must have worked. I heard from the agency today and...the answer isn't "No". Its also not quite yes.  We need to present our case to the Chinese officials and hope that there is enough wiggle-room in the law to allow this otherwise verboten adoption to occur.  Baby steps.

I worry for this child.  If she goes off the international list I think her chances of adoption are very slim.  And she will face a lot of discrimination in China.  Keep her in your thoughts.

Seems like an HBV infant placed with HBV parents would be a perfect fit. Who better to care for an HBV infected child than parents who are already familiar with HBV.

How very kind and selfless of you and your husband to adopt a child in need of a home.  As someone who was adopted himself….this always warms my heart.

I hope everything works out…..Wishing you all the best.

Hat off for you and your husband big time!

You already have 3 children or your own.  It is noble love you are extending to a fourth child from China.

God bless you.
