HBV DNA rised

Hi!

I started treatment with entecavir on July 2017. Before the treatment, my HBV DNA was 381.000.000 UI/mL (8,58 log). On September, after two months, I tested again and it dropped to 34.700 UI/mL (4,54 log). On January 2018, my last exam says my HBV DNA now is 55.100 UI/mL (4,74 log). I wonder if entecavir is no longer fighting against it. I think it's useful to tell you that I got infected in my adulthood, that HBSAG and antiHBS are both positive, and that I still am HBEAG + and antiHBE -. Is there anybody who can help me?

entecavir is too weak on hbeag + and it is working very poorly for you, if you want to make hbvdna und fast add on tenofovir and when hbvdna is very low/und you can stop entecavir.if hbvdna is still so high after 6 months the chances of resistance rise so better add on or change directly for tdf monotherapy

Thank you! I’ll talk to my doctor about changing it to TDF. Is there anything else you would recommend me doing?

No worries too much. The level of DNA sometimes could fluctuate, and it happens to everyone. Just fyi, Entecavir is one of the best treatment for Hep B. Just continue with it and monitor on every six months. One thing that puzzle me is when you said that both HBSAG and antiHBS of yours are positive. I don't think both HBSAG and antiHBS coud ever positive at the same time. Please re-confirm.

Yes, they’ve been both positive since I found out the disease, almost two years ago... some say the chances of being a mutant virus is higher...
