Low levels of Vitamin D causes weakness and fatigue (also  affects immune system negatively) when i checked last year my vitamin D levels were 19ng/nl (super low), i used to feel fatigued and unwell  i started taking 10000iu vitamin D3 capsules (thanks to Stef) , in 6 months levels rose to 66ng/ml i started feeling  sttonger.

The weekness and  fatigue (added to common life stresses) caused depression. This is purely my interpretation, my depression lifted as i felt stronger on vitamin D supplement

To avoid depression try to make your self as busy as you can like  working, studying or exercise.

I have chronic HBV from birth, and now i am 26, and I have experienced depression always. Last year i started to train, and i felt much better, it helped me against depression. Recently though, I started to feel very weak and actually was unable to train, i had no energy at all, and depression started again to dominate me.

I think the hepB gets worse as we get older. they say that most chronic hbvers do not have any symptoms at all, or they may have very mild symptoms that they do not notice. From my personal experience I was getting weaker over the years, and when I hit the beginning of my thirties I began to notice a marked weaknes. I don't want to scare you, we humans are very different and I had, for example, tb, malaria, giardia infection, etc very often as a child something that could be still affecting my health in my adult age. For example, I didn't get enough mother's milk as a baby because my mom died right after i was born, and our families were very poor to support me.
My advice to you is to try to live a healthy lifestyle: eat healthy foods, avoid smoking, limit alcohol, have a good routine and get enough sleep. If you do these things your energy will come back, and you can continue with your training. Also check your vitd3, and supplement if necessary.
Good luck!

to faithhopegod . Yes you are right , but take a look ones more on your name you use here ''faith-hope-god '' .i  don't think you put this name haphazardly. Have faith and hope that a treatment will come up soon . If man is unable then with God it will not fail .

Put in mind that hepa B virus kills just like other diseases .malaria kills more than hep B . Free your mind and feel free and live  as you had nothing in the blood .Just consider you have chlamydia .No man on earth is perfect . All the entire earth is sick . If you put all that  in mind you will live a peaceful life. If you are a christian , take a look at this bible test . Romans 8:22 .  This bible test removed a  very heavy load on my head when i discovered i was hepatitis B positif . FingHb is total right

Liver I believe is the filter for our body.  But clinical depression is in the head part of body.  But yeah I agree that no one organ works alone, but rather they work together as one whole body

Thank you all for sharing your opinions on possible relationship between hbv disease and anxiety/depression. I brought this question because I read that depression is the result of absence of some hormones in our system. Since the liver is one of our most important organs that controls thousands of life processes, I thought its impairment may have some effect on regulating those hormones.

It's mental, if you did not know you had hbv, then depression and anxiety would not be there.  I am only depressed and have anxiety sometimes, when I think of dying early on my wife and my beautiful three boys, other than that I have faith that God will call me home when it's my time.  I pray and wish that I live long and see my grandkids.

depression/anxiety this is character, not hvb or viruses.

this type of weak character reflects on immune system and is not good for severe illnesses like cancer, their immune system is weaker and they usually die on major illnesses.a researcher/doctor experience on cancer, she said character is the most important thing

I don't know how to think any other way. I'm trying so hard because I don't want to take depression pills.

it is not. You might get depressed and anxious though if you think a lot about you being hep positive.
