Hep B & Breast Cancer

Does anyone else have Hep B and breast cancer?  I've lived with Hep B for going on 32 years and five years ago was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I refused all convential treatment due to my liver condition, which by the way, has been fabulous.  Way back when, there wasn't any treatment exdcpt for an IV and quarenteened (sp?).  I got better and went on to live my life, that is until the cancer.

Don't know much about Hep and Ca. I'm a pancreatic Ca. pt in remission and have been dianosed with Hep C amd oncologist have given the go ahead to start Hep tx.. don't have alot of info on adverse effects when tx Hep and have Ca been oncologist assures me that all will go well. The opinin is that my liver was damaged at a faster rate due to chemo, being immunocompromised, other drugs used during Ca. tx. What I will say is that if there is a fighting chance with anyy dz. including Ca and Hep. fight................. Good luck and keep me informed. I begin tx. tomm. so I'll keep in touch and let you know how thats going....

Sorry about your diagnosis.  You are not being ignored.  Just that HepB is the minority on this forum.  Those who knows about HepB may not have direct experience or knowledge with breast cancer.

The only thing that I learned is that those with HepB, even those with inactive HepB needs to be monitored closely for HepB disease re-activation due to cancer treatment like chemo and radiation.  Those starting cancer treatment should talk to their doctor about taking HepB antivirals.  If your doctor says, huh?  Find one with good knowledge of HepB.  Good luck.
