Non-alcoholic Beverages

Right guys,

For all those who still like to party, go out and hang with friends at clubs...... the calling is often great to drink with our mates and pretend it'll be fine 'just this once'. I know this, coz i'm as guilty as the next person despite knowing of my HBV situatioon.... slap slap i know but i'm learning to be more liver friendly.... anyways the point is, I have found (in the UK) beers that have 0% alcohol.... I just wanted to post the ingredients on this board to get advice as to whether this drink indeed is liver friendly:-

Ingredients are:-
Golden Barley
Bavarian hops
Unique Yeast

Description:-
A full, rich thick head, light amber color and balanced bitterness with distinctive full bodied taste and aroma.

This malt beverage has less than .5% alcohol by volume, but has 100% of the taste. But creating a full, rich non-alcoholic beer is a challenge. It’s a race to stop the fermentation before alcohol can form, but not before it achieves the distinctive taste and aroma of a Beck’s. Every bottle is a brewmaster’s triumph, and a victory for those who want the taste without the alcohol.

Each Beck’s beer is made with soft water from a deep well in the Rotenburgen Rinne, golden barley that’s selected by our brewmasters for quality and potential; hops that met the brewmaster’s exacting standards to give Beck’s its aroma and spice; and turn a mixture of pure ingredients into a batch of pure Beck’s.

What do you all reckon?

When I talk to few doctors (I have good amount of them that I socialize with, including my GI). They say nothing is really carved in the stone.

It all depends on each individual's liver health. A drink here and there may not do that damage, especially social drinking.

Should we aim for total celibacy when it comes to alocohol ? Sure.

Abstract philosophy is always great in theory (sorry Ayan Rand) - but for most it is impracticle.

that is indeed a fair comment... I guess its not so much the taste or the smell that i miss but simply not feeling like i can fit in 100% when out for drinks. Thats the main point i was leaning towards. However, you are right in saying despite it claiming 100% non-alcoholic it could still have 0.000001% etc...

I am doing very well in regards to not drinking when i go out but sometimes you just wonder and you miss what you did before (before i knew i was lucky enough to have HBV).

hahahahahha peteshine, beating around the bushes so long as something that tastes or smells like beer is consumed

well listen, if you want to drink non alcoholic beer then i suggest youi drink the regular flavor. its called non alcohol "regular malt"

i would stay from all the other flavors for they might have extra additives you dont really want to consume even though i dont see any hurt drinking it .. its like juice if you choose to drink juice with a taste/smell of beer

i'd make sure - however, that its 0.0% non alcoholic . some companies will falsely claim a 0.0 percent when in fact there is a very tiny percentag  something that than half a percent.
