I have taking TAF for months. Creatinine becomes normal, but my blood sugar goes higher slightly over the normal line (102 over cutoff 99). Anybody are in the same boat?
I need to discuss with my doctor in the next visit.
I got to know I have moderate osteoporosis after my leg fracture at age 34. My creatinine fluctuated between 0.9-1.2 while on tdf for 2.5yrs.
I switched to taf after 5 years of tdf.
Latest creatinine is 0.9
Don't know the variation as it is done just once after taf.
Thanks. I will switch to TAF for my next refill. I am also taking vitamin d too. So far I don’t have bone issues.
I got switched to TAF during my trial, though there was no real proof I was taking TDF during the trial (It was either TDF or TAF), I almost suspect it was TAF. For the most part, I handled it well and I felt "better" when I knew it was 100% TAF. I was having many issues with bone density and kidney issues were starting to come out, and this is what you really need to watch. Unfortunately the kidney issues are somewhat there but they are not bad... just something to keep an eye on. I do feel my recent issues with my bones being weaker came about from being on TAF a longer period. At start it wasn't bad but then recently things got a bit worse. At the moment, I was diagnosed with a form of arthritis and I typically should not be getting this nor have I done anything sever to get it. I'm working through it, since it affects my day to day life, and before you ask.. I usually take the reccommended 10,000 iu daily of Vitamin D3 along with Calcium and Vitamin K2. This helps with things. I am much worse when I am off these supplements, which I've tried doing a couple of times. Anyway, best to keep an eye on yourself with numbers but generally I felt TAF has been better than TDF due to how it was not as potent. I do have a post about my trial that you can find on this site and follow right when I switched to TAF. Good luck!
