Can i resume Tenofovir after almost 3yrs on discontinuation

I am a 39yr old Nigerian diagnosed with Hepatitis B in 2017. E-antigen negative, e-antibody positive
Immediately my doctor (who is not a specialist) placed me on Tenofovir 600mg. It hurts me till this day that he did that without asking me to do a viral count first. The side effects were so severe (chest tightness and right flank pain) that he had to change d drugs to lamivudine 150mg , d effects reduced but were still there. He asked me to use the drugs for 6months total and i stopped (early 2018). Now that i have better knowledge of the disease, i went to do my LFT and viral DNA 2 weeks ago. Ultrasound and LFT were normal but HBV DNA was 6,454 iu/ml. Remember i stopped since early 2018. I intend doing the dna again in 3months to see if its increasing. If it does can i resume TDF or the virus will have developed resistance? What can i do pls, i'm so scared?
