I tested at 34 and 42 days post exposure. Both tests - which included tests for surface antigens - came back negative. Given my very low risk exposure, it would seem highly unlikely that I have Hep B.
I'm having a hard time finding literature on this topic, but it would seem incredibly unlikely that Hep B could be causing my symptoms if surface antigens aren't detectable in my blood stream. Is that right? I really want to rule out Hep B but I continue to feel fatigue, back pain, abdominal pain (particularly URQ), and random shooting pains all over my body.
Hi asikp,
Why are you scared of HBV so much? Complete your test, it's good if it comes negative for HBV. Till then you can relax!! In worst case, even HBV positive also not a big deal to manage now a days except some periodic check ups. Enjoy!!
I see stress is driving you. go and get ur negative test for hep b and hiv. I believe ur free. chances r very low in other word very thin
Oral sex is not a route for transmission of Hep B? (If I had gotten the vaccine, obviously I wouldn't be here)
there is no view, there is a vaccine and that is not the route of hbv transmission
Doctor had blood tests done. ALT is 66. He thinks the chances of this being Hep B are extraordinarily low, but has ordered a test. Should I be worried?
Well, here we are. Negative for HIV and now worrying about Hep B. There seems to be some dispute as to whether Hep B can be transmitted by the receipt of oral sex. What is the current view?
Ah.... This ten years how easy it is?
You don't get HIV from getting your **** sucked...so u don't even need to do HIV test because of that. Hep b is not a reason to be concerned, you won't get it either from that single accident, even if you get it there will be curing meds for it in about 10 years from now for it.
Relax
Yes, get tested. Best case scenario, it rules it out and puts your mind at ease. PCPs are the worst at diagnosing something that is severe, they usually blame it first on anxiety. I had a lot of strange symptoms come about with my Hep B as well and the doctor told me it was anxiety and prescribed me pills for anxiety. These pills did not help me and once I started treatment for Hep B, then I noticed majority of the symptoms subsiding or gone. If you just contracted it, it's a 95% chance your body will clear it naturally within 6 months.
