Switching from Truvada to Viread?

I've HIB only. Unfortunately my Dr. recommended Truvada without any concrete explanation to me (I would like to have another appointment with Dr. to ask why - i hope he doesn't gets offended?).

Since I'm pregnant at 32 weeks. At this crucial stage, i need to start medicine.

Can after pregnancy, i can easily switch from Truvada to Viread?

My HBV IU/mL was 101,511,000. After 3 months another test now it is, 116,000,000.

Did you referred to this post?

I already lost 3 days to find out if Truvada is best. And Dr. is available tomorrow.

stef2011 you have given me confidence to go with Truvada.

Now i saw your hbvdna inthe other post and use of truvada was correct, the viral load is too high and both hbv vaccine and hbig may fail if it is not reduced

My Obstetrician is like only focused on her work, she would let my liver specialist handler everything.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I would definitely seek an explanation. Also, what is the opinion of your obstetrician, it should not be just the decision of a liver doctor alone. There is no reason why you should not use Viread.

Sorry, one mistake i did in posting.

I've mentioned HIB in original post. It's actually HBV - hepatitis B.
